Reviews on Wine Bar food in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Any city that can be the butt of a Simpson's joke ("That's it! We're all going back to Winnipeg!") and simultaneously one of the most vibrant cultural centers in Canada is tops in our book. The city's history of isolation and self-sufficiency means that Winnipeggers are unpretentious and sincere (and fun-loving enough to name Homer an honorary citizen). Though the winters are long and cold, there are plenty of indoor activities to both keep you warm and stimulate your imagination.

The Common craft beer and wine kiosk is located in the newly renovated Food Hall of The Forks Market. We have 20 craft beer and 20 wines available by the glass or in flights that change seasonally, listings are curated by the world's #2 sommelier, Veroniq
Returning to Winnipeg we were pleasantly surprised by what they have done with the forks. No longer a Vegetable, Meat market but still a great place for tourists and locals alike! We really liked "The Commons" (2 bars - inside and out) serving a range of local and other Canadian Micro Brew beers as well as Wines on tap. They claim - 20 craft beer and 20 wines on tap, (but they do run out, so check at both bars for selection) all served in Glassware (part of the forks initiative to achieve a Zero Sustainability, foot print). You can get a Beer or glass of Wine in a proper glass and walk around with it. Don't forget to drop the glass off, back at the bar, when you're done!A number of really good food vendors as well. We ate at the Simon's Steaks. Really good.

Although quite noisy, the atmosphere at this suburban eatery is suitable for any special occasion. Our server was Lisa and she was excellent. However, I do find that the service here is always stellar. In fact, a server, Emmanuel, whom we have had on previous visits stopped by our table to briefly chat with us. We really appreciated that gesture. We ordered the focaccia and an eggplant side to start. The focaccia was excellent and so was the balsamic dipping oil. The eggplant side was fiery and flavourful. Went well with the focaccia. Pizzas are a bit pricey but really good. We had the salumi and the prosciutto. Loved the chewy charred crust and the flavours of the plum, prosciutto and balsamic. Had left over pizza to enjoy the next day.

Promenade Café & Wine Bar is located at the foot of Esplanade Riel overlooking the Red River and the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights. For a price of $25.00 per person, a couple can share a fixed tapas menu that could include a soup, salad and 14 ounc
A nice find on the other side of the Provencher bridge. This is not a fancy looking place but the food was rich and tasty. Some of the best mussels and fries Iâve had in many years and the beef bourguignon my friends had was equally enjoyed. While the staff was very nice the service was a little inattentive.
