We fancied a change and joined the barbecue at Springiersbacher Hof. Not quite sure of how it would work (and not having the German linguistic skills to work it out) but our friendly hosts explained you selected your salads then the meat chosen was taken to the barbeque and cooked for you. The marinated meat was delicious and not burnt to a crisp as can so often happen with barbecued food. There was plenty of variety with the salads and it was okay to return to the salad bar as often as you wanted. Lovely atmosphere, great wine list from their own winery. It was not expensive and we weren't rushed away after our meal, we were told that the table was ours for the evening. Finished off with a local gin made on the premises, excellent evening with very friendly staff who made us feel really welcome.

If you want German food that is filling and tasty this is the place. The service was good and the prices were fair. I enjoyed my Saurbraten thoroughly. Guten appetite.

Best place to try award winning wines in 2 ounce portions. The staff, including the well trained school girls all speak excellent English. The food is very light and designed to complement the wines.

This is the classiest bar on the Mosel waterfront without exception.Indoor seating, and covered outdoor seating with Mosel views.Apart form during the Weinfeste, Domus Vini doesn't sell hot food. It generally sells a typical huntsman menu, such as a hams, salami, cheeses, eggs and bread (with mustard from an authentic Senfmuhle). The host hunts his own wild boar in the hills of the Mosel, and I can verify that the resultant salami is rather wonderful. The host also sells his own wine produce. Simply marvellous. I cannot think of a better way of spending a summer evening other than sitting on this terrace, eating a wonderful mean, and having a few glasses of Domus Vini wine.

Perfect place to spend the evening! Winery offers wine carousel to taste different wines, excellent cheeses and moreover reasonable price! You are sitting in a very quiet atmosphere arranged in a stylish art. Pleasant service, much more private and personal compared to Cochem. Definitely better choice!

It's a lovely place with a great view. However I found it over priced. We ordered a cheese plate and while the presentation was very pretty it was short on substance. We had three pieces of store bought brown sandwich bread with four slices of packaged cheese and a little flavored cream cheese. Visually pleasing bit disappointing overall. The wine was good but it's hard to have bad wine in the Mosel Valley!
Great experience at the hospitable Weingut Sonneneck! Communication on beforehand was smooth & quick and when we requested a last minute change of time (because of bad weather) this was no issue either. We had a warm welcome and were seated at a long table next to the fire. We are with a family of 10 and were hosted by the owner herself, Angela. Angela told the story of the winery and her family estate with clarity and passion, bút only in German! For most of us no problem as we're from the Netherlands but maybe this would be an opportunity to improve upon if they would like to commercialize even further. Angela poured very generous tasting glasses and with each wine she explained in detail the background, grapevariety, style of wine, flavour and pairing combinations. Great was also that she checked whether we preferred sweet or dry wines on beforehand (we went for dry). After a couple of glasses we got the platters of local specialties on the table. This tasted great and looked beautiful as well. Local cuts of meat, rye bread, cheese and spreads were presented. After we were done with the tasting of six different wines we got invited to check out the cellars. Of course we wanted to see this! Her husband was in full action working on the filtration of the wine and we got to see the process. Next to this she invited us to taste a bit of the superfresh 2018 harvest, straight from the INOX tanks. Of course this wine is not yet ready but still cool to taste of course! A walk through the cellars revealed great passion, craftsmanship and innovation at this winery. Although small family business they produce great quality wine made from Riesling, Rivaner, Spätburgunder (pinot noir) and some other less known grape varieties. We would definitely recommend to go here and spend time with the family on learning and tasting about their winery. We paid 22.50⬠per person for tasting of 6 glasses (generously poured) and tasting platter of food (which was a lot) ánd a cellar tour. We feel this is very reasonable. Paying by card and buying wine in their shop on the spot is also possible. Thanks again Angela and the family for having us! We had a great time. Warm regards,Casper & the family
