This small resturant is run by young people, the food is a mix of hamburgers and more traditional foods. We had lunch there, gnocchi and pasta both were very tasty. We returned for dinner and had hamburgers again great food. They also serve local beers.Recommended.

Vinosofia is not technically a restaurant, as classified by Trip Advisor. It is first and foremost an outstanding wine bar. However, one can enjoy an enticing selection of dishes for lunch, an aperitivo or early, light dinner. Most recently, my wife and I enjoyed salmon tartare (tuna and trout were also available) on a bed of tasty polenta, surrounded with fresh sliced avocado. Delicious soups, bruschetta, sliced meats and unique cheese selections, all artfully presented, are amongst the several other menu selections. The wine inventory is comprised of top choices from every region of Italy, as well as typical Umbrian wines, and all can be had by the glass or bottle. Eat inside at the bar or outside on the deck. If oneâs preference is a cold beer or a good single malt scotch, both (and more) can be enjoyed here, as well. Vinosofia is steps above other wine tasting enotecas in Spello and its surrounds.Thank you so much for truly understanding and appreciating our concept here at Vinosofia. If you are passionate about the green gold, EVOO or a novice who wants to learn more about it, EVO (short for Extra Vergine OleOteca) is the place for you. Everyone is familiar with wine/food pairing but the same holds true with olive oil and food. Here at EVO, you'll have an unique experience to taste various high quality oils produced in Italy and other countries, learning the differences, the food pairing or simply enjoying a delicious meal or appetizers in a beautiful ancient sala (there is Roman ruin underneath). Our lunch started with a selections of the olives, not the typical run of the mill varietis, followed by various appetizers, from bruschette with different olive paste toppings, to vegetables dressed with different oils; concluding with a pasta dish and a dessert. The food was light and creative to compliment the exquisite olive oils. If you don't feel like a meal, they also offer the option of appetizer/oil tasting but you'll still walk away with new knowledge and appreciation of the green gold.Thank's, you will always welcome in our shop :-)

We liked the owner and stopped there having glasses of wines a few times. He was very knowledgeable about wine and generous with wine serving. We decided to eat there one night. I enjoyed my pasta dish with truffle very much but not the second course which was pigeon dish. Its presentation was rather odd with half size of pigeon and a hand full of lettuce "salad". No source and dressing very dry. I would recommend having wine and maybe lunch there but not a proper dinner.

The owner welcomed us with a lame "joke" ("we like people of your country because you've got a lot of money"), then wanted to serve us a wine of his choice without asking us, what we wanted, so we declined (be aware that a lot of the wines on the list are very pricey). The legume soup didn't taste like much either (nothing to do with an umbrian lentil soup).

The food is good in this place. The refreshing terrace is fine to rest. The owner however likes touching the women entering the shop. Not appropriate !
