Lying on the Mediterranean Sea, it is approximately 56 kilometres (35 mi) south of Genoa and is set on a promontory. While nearby Portofino and the Cinque Terre are probably the best-known tourist destinations on the Italian Riviera, Sestri Levante is becoming quite a favorite among Italians. This once quiet fishing village is slowly turning into a tourist hotspot, developing an old and a new town.

When we travel we tend to always look for that special place where food, drinks and people all mix well. U Fundu is an absolute must stop. Basically a wine bar, reasonably priced, especially when you have Omar (proprietor) come out and help with wine and beer selections. He's very proud of his wine stock and doesn't hesitate to make excellent suggestions. To compliment the drinks, during later afternoon/evening they present some awesome appetizers prepared in their small kitchen. All local ingredients and plentiful. Almost spoils needing dinner later! Omar is a great guy, loves the "Boss" and always has good music banging out from bar area. Has great location, town center in Sestri, with outside café as well as indoors. Customers are almost all repeats and all come to see Omar and are all good people themselves. We spent at least an hour+ everyday while in Sestri. Don't miss this!

We were 21 pax who came for a morning focaccia class. Mikaela and Barbara turned out to be the most funny, professional, charming teachers. We had an absolut blast and Barbaras husband plied us with local wine and interesting stories. Really a treat and you dont have to be a group. They are opened every evening for taste and shop. All local produce. Do not miss an evening with Mikaela & Co.

L'ambiente è avvolgente e piacevole. Il Bistrot di Altrove propone piatti della tradizione ligure e oltre 400 etichette di vini italiani e non. Servizio in sala interna e nel nuovo dehors con vista mare.

Un'enoteca curata nei minimi particolari; intima ma allo stesso tempo conviviale e dal gusto decisamente ricercato come del resto lâaccurata e pregevole selezione enologica che i titolari propongono ai loro ospiti, la quale permette di vivere un âesperienza enogastonomica davvero particolare, degustando un buon calice accompagnato da sfiziosi e gustosi stuzzichini.Ritorneremo volentieri!

Dal 1978 locale storico di Sestri Levante è stato il primo bar-paninoteca della città . Si parte a pranzo con piatti tipici locali e focaccine, insalate per poi trasformarsi in locale da aperitivi, cene e diventare cocktail-bar e birreria fino a tarda sera

Chose this place after walking past it. It was a Saturday night so everywhere was quite busy. Italians dine quite late ie. 9.30pm is the busy time. Found the service nice and friendly and they spoke English well. Food was ok and pricing was fine. Location was great.

We discovered on our second night in town and went there twice as the wine was very good and atmosphere was just wonderful. Quiet place to have a glass of wine and some nibbles to go with it. It can be perceived as an acquired taste but it is actually a quintessentially Italian wine bar with great atmosphere.Wine list spot on and delicious dishes to accompany it, we will definitely go back when in Sestri Levante next time.
