Beautiful grounds! Walk around and admire the unique decor. Enjoy lovely outside seating to eat and drink. Small exquisite cafe menu for wine pairing. Tasting very low/reasonable price. Great Pinot Noirs for aging and drinking straight away. Save room for a few bottles from this place! Very generous hours of operation!

Lageder wines are outstanding but I was quite disappointed with Paradeis, his Restaurant. The gorgeous little courtyard invites to dine with a backdrop of lemon trees in huge pots and a stunning farmhouse cobbled courtyard. The service is pure perfection….but then came the food! What a disappointment. We were told that the chef hasn’t been there long (all the more reason to impress) and that he was still finding his way in the kitchen. Understandable, if one ordered a complicated Cordon Bleu dinner, but for simple fresh asparagus and salad….no! Surely nobody can go wrong with that? It was also not a case of loads of people arriving at the same time, the restaurant was almost empty and that should give him sufficient time to prepare a simple meal to perfection as the price suggests. My advice is, get a chef to match your wines.

The chef here focuses on originality and presentation but too many dishes were unsatisfactory in terms of seasoning (almost all) and cooking (e.g. a guinea fowl). Polite service, good wine list, prices high for what is being offered and considering the local competition.

This was the most memorable meal and most enjoyable evening I had in a week in SudtiroI/Alto Adige.I walked past this small restaurant/enoteca while strolling around town, then went for an apertivo glass of wine. After looking at the menu, I decided to go back for dinner and booked a table for later. Another bonus point was the number of different wines available by the glass.I had the scallops in a raspberry/pimiento gazpacho. I must admit I chose it as it sounded different and unusual. It was also delicious, as were the venison, and a plate of local cheeses. There were several other dishes I'd have been just as happy to try.The staff were very friendly and helpful. The local wines which were recommended were excellent and matched the food very well. If you enjoy wine, do talk to the staff as they will also take your preferences into account. Having discussed the types of wine I like/don't like, I ended up drinking a wine (Lagrein - my new favourite red wine) with the venison course that I didn't even know what it was until I was told afterwards. For me, this added to the experience. It is relatively expensive, so I'd recommend it more as a treat than a casual evening out. I fully intend on going back when I am next in the area.
