We found this small bar/eaterie by accident but were very glad we did! From the moment that we asked if there was a table until we left, were made very comfortable and welcome by the young ladies and barman. The food filled the gap brilliantly with a superb. Starters were a tasty tartare de dourade and La burrantina (Italian dish like mozzarella but more creamy). Mains were a really good entrecôte cooked perfectly and a Fillet of Dourade which was to come with roasted vegetables. My wife asked for fries with it and this was taken to be instead of the vegetables. When pointed out that she wanted both, they arrived promptly with no extra charge. My only complaint would be that the limited wine list heavily lent to the more expensive types. This is the first restaurant in St Martin that we would visit again and am surprised at some of the other reviews which, glad to say, we ignored!!

We visited La Maison some years ago and the meal and setting were good. However I noticed that it now has new owners so we decided to visit again. The food was amazing the clams starter with mango very good as was my partners Oeufs en Cocotte and my sisters risotto. The Bar en Croute to follow was excellent and had the food not been so good we could have bypassed the dessert - however we had to try them. Poire bel Helene and Ile Flotant were delicious. The new owners have only been there a few months and they deserve to do well - as they seem to be doing as it was already busy at 8pm. We will be back!
