We were told to go to this resturant by another restauranteur in town. Lovely ( I mean drop dead gorgeous view from upstairs dining room). View of vineyards across river Moselle were fabulous. Outside seating would have been offered but for the rain. Not speaking a word (maybe zwei) I was able to order a dry Riesling and a nice Rose. Food was another point. I thought I was getting dumplings but got potatoes in cream with shrimp. It was very good but I'm not picky. Wife had just what she ordered and was as happy as a clam. Learn German or be happy with this type of food. I found it tasty.

A great hour spent chatting to the people managing the establishment and the locals whilst learning about their wines, and a very enjoyable hour it was, this place should not be missed on a visit to Piesporter.
We took a road through Piesport en route to Koblenz and stumbled upon this wine shop by chance. The owner was kind enough to allow us to taste several of his wines and we ended up buying a mixed case as they were of good quality and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

This was our first trip canoeing down the Mosel. After a short paddle from Trittenheim, we pitched camp on the river bank site and wandered up here in the afternoon. We didn't know what to expect, or much about Mosel wine, but this was the first winery we came to, and we got a very friendly reception. Afterwards I read my Hugh Johnson who says Neumagen isn't the best vineyard - those on the banks of the river Dhron behind the village, and the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen downstream are better - but it's the oldest wine-making area on the Mosel, dating back to the Romans. The wine tasted jolly good to me! The following morning we paddled past the replica Roman ship.
A small familidriven vineyard, with weinstube. We had an excellent afternoon with Annette who told us a lot about their wine and the area surrounding, later on Frank came by. He showed us the vineyard and took us around their cellars and explained about the winemaking process.Frank and Anette are the very welcoming owners of this vineyard. Which has been in their family sine 1621. Impressing!
