Our 2nd visit to this restaurant, in a quiet back street of Mendrisio, and really cannot fault it. The service, ambiance and food are all top quality. The maitre'd in particular - his depth of knowledge of the dishes, the ingredients providence etc are 2nd to none, and make the place a real pleasure to visit. The weather helped of course - a beautiful sunny early evening with views from the back garden into the high mountains around - it all made for a fantastic evening. The menu is extensive, the wines really top quality and mostly from the local vineyards. Has to be one of the best places I've eaten in for a long time, and would totally recommend it to all others.

Accoglienza cordiale! L'ambiente Ã¨ tipico di un'osteria di paese, tovagliette e tovaglioli di carta e un incredibile rumore che con l'andar del tempo puÃ² diventare fastidioso. Abbiamo pranzato con una terrina di fagiano, che era buona, ma l'insalata che faceva da contorno non si adattava. Gli gnocchi, con salsa di panna e funghi, erano morbidissimi e i funghi ottimi. L'entrecÃ´te, che il padrone mi ha mostrato prima dell'ordinazione, era cotta al sangue come desiderato e i funghi molto buoni. Solo i fagiolini che facevano da contorno non erano entusiasmanti. Il solo dolce possibile Ã¨ stata una crostata con gelato di vaniglia: essa mi ha deluso un poco. L'osteria Ã¨ a due passi dalla Fondazione ZÃ¼st.

So my family brought me there and they like it so that makes me happy.I mostly like it. I think the food is a little complex for my tastes but thats okay cause it depends on your tastes. They make food with strong taates so be prepared. One thing that I really didn't like is that they didn't have the basic drinks like Fanta or Coke.
