Nach dem Besuch mit Freunden im sehr interessanten (und Jugenderinnerungen hervorrufenden...) Spielzeugmuseum in Grubberg in St. Stefan ob Stainz sind wir noch in der nahe gelegenen Buschenschank Tschankhiasl eingekehrt. Wir sind mit Blick auf die wunderschÃ¶ne Landschaft â WeingÃ¤rten, Felder, WÃ¤lder, zum Teil schon schÃ¶n herbstlich verfÃ¤rbt â auf der Terrasse gesessen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient, obwohl wir nicht allzuviel konsumiert haben. Ein Schinkenbrot (sehr groÃ) war sehr schmackhaft, auch Mehlspeisen, Wein (fÃ¼r die Nicht-Autofahrer...) und Kaffee haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Es war nett, hier noch gemÃ¼tlich zu sitzen, Ã¼ber die alten Spielzeuge und Ã¼berhaupt Ã¼ber Dies und Das zu plaudern, und dann wieder Abschied von der herrlichen Weststeiermark zu nehmen.

We were 1 hour too early, but Mr Dorner and his team very kindly served us food and drinks. Very nice the Gelber Muskateller, super salad with the very special black beans and of course with pumpkin seed oil, and a very tasteful Schweinsbraten ... incredible quality. Sitting in the sun, watching the lovely landscape ... what more do you need!

If you are touring the Schilcherland with a car, bike or on foot, this is a wonderful place to take a rest and enjoy some local wine and food. A Buschenschank is a winery which also serves some simple meals along with it's own wine. Food choices are usually salads, soups, plates of cold cuts of meat and cheese together with fresh bread. All of these foods are well paired with the wines produced. If you do not know what to order look around and see what looks good on other visitor's plates and order accordingly.
