Le Nouveau Paris

The restaurant is located to the North of Neuilly-Sur-Seine, on an island surrounded by the Seine in Paris. It has a mixture of local french drinks as well as the brand names you would expect. The starters were beautiful. We shared two starters which were more than enough for 4, including humous, olives, salami, ham, tomatoes, cheese etc....the range and quality of the two starters that we tried were perfect. Our main consisted of steak, home made chips, salad (with a Dijon mayonnaise) and accompanied with a Peppercorn sauce that makes you want to go to the kitchen and demand the recipe! They also made a beautiful salad at request to the dietary requirements of one of our group. There is a great range of not just French but touches of specialist Italian cuisine centred around quality beef and seafood dishes. JC and Frederic were not only attentive and friendly waiters but took the time to describe every dish on the menu in English (as our french was only passable at infant school!). This seemed of no trouble whatsoever. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and like a friend always told me.....when you want good food, go to where all the locals go! A must go-to restaurant which we were lucky enough to stumble upon on our hotel doorstep but would definitely travel to if not."The England People!"MILLE MERCIS, pour la gentillesse de votre message.Nous espérons avoir le bonheur de vous recevoir à nouveau .cordialement .

We had picked this restaurant mainly because of the outstanding reviews, and were looking forward to a lovely dinner with friends. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we arrived about 5 minutes early, at which time they were mopping the floor, and as the first customers to appear, we were led to our table. While the greeting was friendly, the foul odour of chlorine was so incredibly overwhelming that it became impossible to enjoy the glass of champagne we ordered. We stayed on for about 20 minutes or so to see if the smell would eventually subside, but even with some food smells coming from the kitchen, the pungent chlorine smell was persistent. Finally, feeling queasy and disappointed, we had no choice but to pay for our drinks and leave. It is curious that a restaurant that boasts what I am sure must have been a wonderful selection of wines and food, would choose to mar the entire 'degustation' experience in such a violent way. Nobody should have to put up with bad odours as an accompaniment to a glass of wine. Our table was right by the stairs leading to the cellar and the toilets, which may account for the intensity of the smell. Maybe mopping up a good hour in advance would have given it enough time for the smell to fade.bonjour madamemerci pour votre message, je suis désolé de cette gène olfactive ce vendredi, cependant je suis assez étonné car pour le "petit" de serpillière que nous passons le soir aucun produit n est utilisé, et sert juste a effacé les traces au solsconcernant ce vendredi nous avons pris beaucoup de retard avant le service, a cause d'un problème technique qui nous a fait perdre 20 minutes et donc nous étions un peu a la courseUne trentaine de client sont venues dîner ce vendredi soir et personne nous a fait remarquer ce détailIl aurait été judicieux de votre part de nous signaler le problème afin de le "résoudre" et de vous changer de table, plutôt que de partir sans rien direbon séjour marc

I booked this in advance and really wanted to like it but I wish we had gone somewhere else. The two stars are for the onion soup starter, which was good. I then had the filet mignon de porc sauce aux noix which was €26 - the pork was as tough and dry as old leather and the sauce oversalted and tasteless. My partner's médaillons de boeuf sauce cognac at €36 was equally overpriced - really salty and no hint of cognac. We didn't get desserts as they were so expensive and we were not confident they'd be worth it. The place seemed to be full of tourists. I wouldn't return. The next evening we just went to the first brasserie that we found, Le Poncelet on Ave Wagram, and it was much better value for money: great lamb shank. Go there instead.
