Reviews on Wine Bar food in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Edinburgh’s neighborhoods developed as the city did. Originally its heart lay in the alleys and cobbled streets of the Old Town, below the castle. Then, in the late-18th century, the residential focus shifted north to a huge planned Georgian New Town. That’s now become the city’s business center, while visitor attractions and nightlife have become fairly evenly shared between these two central districts. Around them, a ring of residential districts now house most of those living in central Edinburgh. Though less good for sightseeing, these neighborhoods are just as busy and typified by thriving restaurant scenes and large parks.

I really enjoyed our visit to this place. It was the first visit but I don't think it will be the last. Really comfortable and welcoming surroundings with a really simple menu of cheeses, charcuteries, breads, pates, and not so surprisingly - pickles! Great for a late lunch or supper and fairly reasonably priced. Roast Hog pate was delicious.

We enjoyed our third visit to the Lighthouse today and was delighted with the friendly welcome, wonderful food, fresh from the fishermanâs trawler and nice ambiance. This is a lovely little restaurant overlooking Newhaven Harbour which never disappoints. Iâve tried a few different fish dishes now, everyone fantastic but they also have a meat and a vegetarian option too which weâre all well received. Word of warning though, do book in advance to ensure a table. Weâve heard a few disappointed travellers be turned away

Amazing Italian in Edinburgh! We made a reservation for dinner which I would recommend as this is a small intimate bistro. The pasta was some of the best weâve had. Service was lovely, and wine was great! The best was the delicious Tiramisu for dessert. We would highly recommend if youâre looking for a little break from traditional pub fare :)

Where to start? The tomato gazpacho was outstanding, as was the foie gras. The seasonal Scottish grouse was unique and wonderful. The folks who had the cod loved it. The service is first-rate -- attentive without being over bearing. In all, a must if you're in Edinburgh.
