Been in this restaurant for dinner with friends. This is a small restaurant in the old city center. The owners focused on creating new dishes based on classic Portuguese gastronomy, and the outputs are fantastic! the advice is to try one of each as the portions are small. The wine selection is very good for a restaurant so small like this one. The final value for money is very good!

This is an excellent taps restaurant with a somewhat limited menu but great staff and real quality in terms of what they do serve. Recommend the pardon peppers and canary potatoes although in truth everything was good. Definitely highly recommended fo a light lunch

Out of a tiny kitchen came the most amazing food I've ever tasted. Everything was gorgeous. We went 2 nights in a row we loved it that much. The cod filet with chickpea puree was sublime. The asparagus was cooked to perfection. The potatoes in the oven with dip were delicious. I could go on but if you don't believe then just run don't walk to this restaurant. Advance booking advised.

Do book because this place is always full. Interesting modern and traditional petiscos/tapas, good wine list, warm, helpful service. There's a sister restaurant out in the Coimbra suburbs, another in Viseu, and I think still one in Costa Nova, the lovely seaside place beyond the Aveiro lagoons. Not the cheapest, but truly worth it.

Restaurant where you can have a very good meal and taste a good wine.
We went here our first night in Coimbra and I have to say it has set the bar very high for any other restaurants we visit. I had steak with mushrooms that was melt in your mouth delicious and tried out cheese with pumpkin jam for dessert which was amazing! The service was also fantastic and they had our party of five set up in minutes even though we didn't have a reservation. I do recommend calling ahead though, because it's likely we just got lucky.

We were looking for "best in town" restaurants during a 3-day business trip with colleagues and found Notes Bar & Kitchen upon a recommendation. The restaurant is located near the center of Coimbra. super easy to find.Like almost all other restaurants we tried, this was a small place. Excellent ambiance, cosy and contemporary with probably 20-25 pax. max capacity. The service was very attentive while not being overly pushy. A rare and valuable combi nation. The restaurant has a great selection of dry-aged meats available. Excellent and a must-try.We went for a variety of dishes and drinks and were blown away with the quality of what we were served. The menu is small and well-selected. Always a good sign in a restaurant indicating that they focus on a selection of dishes, all of which they do really well.Combined with the ambiance and great service, this was by far our best dining experience in Coimbra. An absolute must-try during your visit there! The only comment would be that this is not the best place for a small wallet - but worth every cent!Thank you so much for your evaluation, David! Our main goal is to give our costumers and clients the best experience they can get and we are very glad someone recommended us to you and your friends.Must mean we are doing something right :)Hope you can share with us a little bit more in another trip!Kind regards,Notes Team
