Can’t-miss sights include the 12th-century Palazzo dei Consoli (Palace of the Consuls) and the churches of St. Sylvester and St. Michael Arcangel, both also dating from the 12th century. The Madonna of the Snow was built atop a Roman temple ruin. The Mercato delle Gaite, a major medieval festival, happens every June.

We have eaten at this recently opened Osteria/ enotecca for supper, lunch and occasional breakfast eight times in March and April. One evening meal was very good indeed as were two breakfasts. The coffee is good, but cappuccinos were not. But three other evening meals were very disappointing. Dry main courses and warmed up pasta, i.e. not freshly cooked were the main problems. The service was variable, sometimes ok, sometimes indifferent and even disdainful. Cappuccinos at most recent breakfast were served with longlife milk and stale cornetti. A great shame because when it is good it is very good. We will not go back until we hear they have got their act together.NeedDear Highbury19,thank you for sharing your feedback. We have this strong doubt also because your statements are not correct: we never serve warmed pasta and our cornetti with homemade jam are always fresh as well as the milk. You may expect to find a number of drinks and a good collection of wine at this little place but they also serve very good, freshly prepared small dishes of different kinds. If you just want a drink and maybe something light to eat to that, this is the place. The service is friendly and helpful.

I have never visited such an amazing little cafe/restaurant. Inside is full of books, objects, pictures and wine, all packed into a small characterful place in a marvellous village in Umbria. The pasta served to our party of 10 was wonderful. The menu is small but if you're in the area, check it out!Be amazed!

Bevagna is a beautiful Umbrian town with a relaxed family feeling. At Le Barbatelle, you can sit outside and have some really interesting one-off cocktails and bruschette while watching life go by.
