AOC is a great wine bar, where one can choose a glass or bottle of wine and then something small or large to eat. We had a few glasses to sample local wines along with a baked cheese, a wonderful combination to warm up on a cold January night. The owner is enthusiastic about his wines and made sure we had a great time : if you don't like the wine, no worries, try another one. And if you like it, you can buy a bottle for home! Recommended

French café bistrot providing with smile and joy fresh and tasty products, nice wine selection and homemade rhums.
This small restaurant had the most interesting tapas served in a wooden crate! It was delicious. The chef was on hand to describe the savoury treats. It was enjoyed with a glass of local red wine and followed by a homemade dessert. Service excellent. Atmosphere funky, cool. A memorable meal.

We arrived at 8pm and were immediately, in a very friendly way told that their policy is that they cook once a day, and when it's gone, it's gone...we were the offered a dish with couscous and lamb. Two small bits of lamb each, with squash and other vegetables. However it was just about cold.I was up most of the night with tummy upset. Not great for a first night on holiday. My husband also felt unwell. We went to this restaurant because it was recommended by our landlord and was v close to our accommodation.Great people but not great food.Dear Lucy, thank you very much for taking the time to write your comment. We are very sorry about the unfortunate experience you and your husband had. We understand it was not an ideal way to start a trip in our beautiful city.We can assure you that we consistently follow strict hygiene rules in our kitchen and restaurant. We would love to invite you both, so you could witness it and enjoy the heathy food we cook with love. Take care. The Hygge team.

For a place at such a prime location, looking straight at the Popes Palace, and most likely victim (and beneficiary) of avalanches of tourists, it was a pleasant surprise to be met with a smile and willingness to serve one a drink outside of the French, often inflexible, hours. Fantastic aperol with even more fantastic view. Bravo!

Situé dans le centre d'Avignon, proche de la Tour Saint-Jean, le restaurant Le Vintage vous accueille tous les jours pour vos déjeuners et dîners.
At around 20-22 Euro, we found the three course meal at le Vintage to be outstanding. For the appetizer, we both had gazpacho that was perfect for a Summer evening. For the main, my wife had beef with excellent Summer vegetables and I had duck. Both mains were outstanding. For dessert, it was chilled berries with cream that finished the meal perfectly. We had a reasonably priced bottle of wine with the meal. Service was excellent and friendly, and the location in the alleyway (in a good way) allowed for shade and a nice breeze.

My wife and I had the the 25 EURO vegetarian sampler for two. This included raw, grilled, pickled, and fried veggies and sauces in a Mediterranean style. Very nice and enthusiastic server. Nice indoor and large outdoor eating area off the street in private patio. They serve wine, beer , and desserts . Loved the dessert sampler. Thanks a lot for your comment :) It was a pleasure to meet you. See you soon ^^

We ate lunch here one day, and it was so good we went back for dinner. For the lunch, we wanted something light. We each got gazpacho (lovely--both absolutely true to that soup and more interesting somehow) and shared some bread and cheeses. Dinner came around and we were still interested in Le 46, in part because their lunch prices had been quite reasonable.Dinner was excellent! I still wanted lighter fare, so I ordered the heirloom tomato salad, while my husband got the Planche a la Mer (a seafood assortment). The salad was something else! I had thought I wasn't hungry, but I enjoyed all the tastes and textures so much I finished the entire thing. The basil sorbet was a fantastic touch. We had the same server for both meals (she was working long shifts that day), and she was great both times.
