A great restaurant popular with locals and a few backpackers. It's on a wide street that borders the river, open air with a wide variety of foods. We ate there with friends several times during our last stay and will return again when we make our annual visit to My Tho. Fairly large portions and local prices. Plenty of cold beer also at reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

After doing a bit of island hopping and enjoying what each had to offer, the magnificent setting and gardens of this restaurant was a really pleasant surprise. And apparently so were the mens' toilets with some interesting artwork... The ladies' bathrooms were spacious and clean. Although geared to accommodate big groups every day, the attention and service our small group got was very good and unhurried. The shrimp balls in particular are very good. It was a pity we were on a tight schedule, as it would have been great to just spend some time in that tranquil environment. Well worth a visit, although it is quite pricey.

A group of seven of us came here for lunch after enjoying the beauty, culture and small scale industries at My Tho villages. The restaurant is in a nice setting by the banks of the Mekong (Tien) River. The grounds are beautiful inviting visitors to wander around enjoying its beauty and well maintained ponds and grounds. There are benches too in the gardens and you feel like sitting there to enjoy the environment. The restaurant is very large and can probably seat more than 500 guests. Our food had been pre-ordered by the tourist company. The food served of course will depend on the order. We enjoyed our meal of fried fish with sautéed fish sauce, spring rolls, shrimps prepared in a variety of ways, tasty veggies, fried rice and a variety of other food. The food was delicious.

We visited with Wendy Wu group for lunch. Very good, simple, tasty Vietnamese food. Lovely service from smiling efficient staff. When we arrived we were only people there, but when we left there were many people dining in this quite big restaurant. As the meal was part of tour package, I can't comment on cost, but expect it wasn't much. If you are in My Tho (maybe for the big Buddhist temple?), I recommend you try this restaurant. It's situated about 30 metres down a short narrow road off the main road.

We wanted vegetarian food. Our guide took us here. I think finding vegetarian food is not very easy in Vietnam. This restaurant did serve us some decent vegetarian food. A new item that we had here was a giant sticky rice ball. It was a huge puffed ball that we had to eat by breaking into small pieces. We also had Vietnam noodles and a Tofu with vegetables preparation .At the end we had Xoi, which is a dessert made of glutinous rice.

Mekong Taste is a great, affordable, clean hideaway/ getaway in the Mekong Delta. It is tucked away riverside on Cu Lao Thoi Son, one of the islands in the Mekong River still part of Tien Giang province. You can arrive here conveniently while crossing the Rach Mieu Bridge by car/ bus or while taking a boat trip via their official boat jetty. If you are making a road trip by motorbike it is also recommended to stay the night in their camping style resort and to enjoy the surroundings and especially the for this island famous Longan fruit. It is also not called Mekong Taste for nothing. It is too tempting not to try out every single dish on their authentic regional menu. For me as highlight were the dragon eggs (hollow fried rice balls) which also take very special skills to prepare. I loved the fried Elephant Ear fish, also a typical local delicacy. Add the tasty, succulent fish to your rice paper roll with herbs and other condiments, roll it, dip it and eat it with your fingers and all. And many more delicious dishes you should try. We are here now, the food is very good and the prices are decent...a little more expensive than the usual one since it is in front of the temple.Very nice service, menu in vietnamese and english. Great fruit juices.
