Pho Vstar served excellent basic Vietnamese fare in a clean, comfortable dining room. The Pho bo, the vermicelli bowls, and the banh xeo were all tastly and authentic. The prices were reasonable as well. If you're a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or want to be adventurous, it's well worth checking out this fine establishment on Merrimack.

I love their spicy sautéed frog legs and spicy sour beef, tripe and whatever else goes in there with Chinese water grass and Thai eggplant soup. I would have this with white rice. They are one of my favorites. The frog legs are good chunks of meat sautéed with lemongrass and other herbs with bell peppers and onions. The soup is aromatic with a slight of spiciness and sourness. The only two things I eat from here, but if you're not brave enough...order beef lok lac with white or fried rice. This is a popular dish...it is marinade beef cubes sit on top of iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers. It comes with a sauce... salt with black pepper and vinegar to dip in. It is a very casual place...no need to dress up.

Lowell has an excellent selection of ethnic restaurants, especially Vietnamese. I've had lunch here a few times, and the food is excellent, especially the Phad Thai, the soups and the curries. The place is small but charming, but the service is consistently slow, which can be annoying if you're on a work lunch hour or have to get somewhere. My last time here was no exception.

I've eaten here with family and friends many times since they opened in January of 2018. Aside from the clean, attractive décor, they always prepare and deliver excellent banh mi, delicious soups, sides, and drinks. The staff are accommodating, the baguettes baked to perfection, the many banh mi choices compelling. The only change I ever make is asking for extra sauce. They are more than welcome addition to the local scene and I wish them well - for all our sakes.

I like Pho 88 much, much better. Lots of Asians go there as well. Sign of a good Asian restaurant. Also at Drum Hill. Pho Da Lat just okay.

Simply go here and experience anything from the menu. You will leave pleased with your choices no matter what they were. A high level of pride in ownership and service apparent here. The place is small, plain, very well kept.
