Attended a wedding reception here in August 2014. Fabulous experience. Stunning location in beautiful countryside. Atmospheric old building. Superb service by all staff. Delicious food, multiple courses, extra servings offered as soon as you said you liked something. The anti pasti could have been a meal in itself. Free flowing vino. A truly wonderful wedding reception. Would love to return to stay at the hotel as a guest.

In my view, Da Alighiero should be the number one ranked restaurant in Anghiari on this site. They do everything right and exceeded our expectations in every way: friendly welcoming staff, warm & cozy ambiance, imaginative menu, a solid "wow factor" with every dish we were served, reasonable prices and very modest & appreciative owners (Sylvia & Giovanni). I couldn't help but overhear the positive rapport between the owners and staff signalling this must be a great place to work. There should be a line out the door of customers waiting to get inside here. Fabulous in every way!

We went for my birthday and had a range of really interesting food. I had a risotto with different types of berries which was amazing. The serves were very large! Staff were friendly

Il Feudo del Vicario

Maybe it was because of the highly stressed servers on a busy Friday night, maybe it was because we waited at least 20 minutes to receive a menu after being seated, maybe it was when we saw someone from the kitchen staff arrive with a large shopping bag from Penny Market (a low-cost, low-quality supermarket here in Italy), maybe it was because we were told the porcini mushrooms on the menu were frozen (even though they are readily available fresh everywhere in Italy as this is high season). Maybe it was because the bruschetta was a PASTE of tomatoes on stale bread. Maybe it was a combination of the whole experience. Only one word comes to mind: ABYSMAL. If I were working in this restaurant I would be so embarrassed!I've re-submitted this review to include the attached photo of the "RECEIPT" for our dinner at Il Feudo del Vicario last night (Friday, July 12, reservation at 8 pm). We were seated on the small balcony (two adults with a small dog, surely the wait staff will remember us). I urge the owner (who responded in the most rude and vicious way possible to my legitimate review, claiming I had written it fraudulently) to check our reservation from last night to confirm that we indeed had dinner at her restaurant. Yes, we also reserved for tonight (Saturday, July 13), but have since cancelled due to our miserable experience the night before.

We visited Anghiari for 1 night and stumbled across this restaurant. It’s just round the corner from the main square.Service was good and the waitress spoke English which helped! We had mixed mixed bruschetta to start for 3 people, homemade wholewheat pasta with tomatoes, capers, olives and mozzarella, a spaghetti dish with local sausage meat, courgettes and shaved truffle, and duck gnocchi. A mixed salad, lovely bottle of red wine, a glass of prosecco, water x 2 big bottles, 2 desserts: biscotti & vin santo and tiramisu, and am espresso.Delicious meal and good value at €69.

Il Capello di Paglia

Restaurant located in the countryside near Anghiari. We booked a table here via The Fork. Interesting menu. My boyfriend ordered gnocchi, as first dish, while I had codfish served with potatoes bread. My fish was good. As main dish we both ordered boar and porcini mushrooms cooked in the oven on a vine leaf. We enjoyed the food. Service was warm and professional. With 1 small bottle of local wine, 1 bottle of water, 1 dessert (a delicious pistacchio smifreddo) and 2 coffees we paid about 85€. Parking for free but not comfortable for disables.
