Relax: you are in Bengodi... This historic place is in the heart of Castelnuovo Berardenga, and has re-opened under new management starting April 2014. The gracious blend of traditional Chianti cuisine, the fantastic setting in the courtyard of a former m
We returned to this hidden gem of a restaurant two years after our first visit wondering if it would measure up to our first experience. It didnât- it surpassed it! The ambience is beautiful, cozy and romantic. The owner/ server/ translator and music facilitator is engaging, welcoming and helpful with selecting food and wine( and translating the entire menu). And of course the food!! One course more delicious than the other. We had risotto served from a hollowed Romano cheese, followed by the wild boar pasta and the veal with peppercorns and fruit, accompanied by a delicious local wine. Sadly there was no room for desert but I am sure they too would be perfect. We ate at a Michelin star restaurant last night but opt to rerun to Enoteca Bengodi tonight for our last night in Tuscany. It is nothing short of wonderful.

We probably arrived a little late for lunch however it was no problem. Service wasn't the fastest but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't matter. Interesting menu and very artistic presentation. Plenty to see in this village. Excellent museum and art gallery and magnificent views.

we visited with friends Tuscany, stayed a bit in Florence , Sienna and Castelnuovo Berardenga, deep , original Tuscany. A charming and very professional receptionist for our wonderful hotel recommended the La bottega del 30. It was one of the warmest gastronomic experience I ever had. Helene , the owner is a fairy tale book. A colorful life of love, great food and fantastic respect for the clients . Everything reminds you about your grandma's kitchen, the first cooking instruments, the books , old photos on the wall.It is from an old tale with great cooks, fantastic recipes and only good things. Once inside the inn only positive things can happen to you, Helene will tell you her life story, a beautiful young Parisian who after finishing Sorbonne fall in love with the handsome Italian and move to Sienna where they decide to open a small restaurant ...and the whole village conspire to their dream. And the story goes on. If you will visit the BOTTEGA DEL 30 you will discover where the story is today, because is a never ending tale. But you also will discover one of the best home made raviolis with ricotta and spinach made in an absolutely unique way. But no matter what you will choose it will be a delight, the whole history of Tuscany will be in your plate. Grandiose yet simple , majestic but popular , smooth but with personality. We had a wonderful evening with a lot of laughter and full of Helen's heartwarming stories . Do not miss the sensational desert, like pistachio parfait. Unreal , from another time, everything is from a book and once there you will be part of the story.I will go back for sure Thank you Helene, mercie de tout mon coeur P.s The restaurant is one of the longest Michelin star restaurant in Italy , got start 20 years ago

I stopped by for lunch at Ristorante Da Ciccio (open everyday but Tuesday). The service is attentive, personable and with a smile. The food is tasty with typical Tuscan traditional favorites. I paid only 20 Euros for table service, sparkling water, wine, a pasta starter, a meat entree and a side dish of spinach. Excellent value. Would I return? Yes of course. Would I recommend it? Yes of course.

Visited this restaurant twice during our vacation in Tuscany and I must say that the quality and level of this restaurant is far higher than one could imagine: Tuscan dishes prepared with excellent ingredients and a touch of creativity, competent and friendly staff, a fairly priced wine list and a great view over the surrounding hills.

The simplicity of Tuscan flavours, the perfumes of our valley can be found in the dishes of the Osteria, the youthful country restaurant, perfect for dinner with friends or a romantic date. At the Osteria every occasion is a special one.If you come once,
Amazing traditional pretty restaurant in the village square of a small Tuscan village. They accommodated us for a late dinner (9.30pm) as we only just arrived to our B&B nearby. The menu was quite large with varied options, and prices were very reasonable. We ordered a delicious, out of this world truffle & porcini mushroom pasta! It was soo good but portion size a bit small. The truffle pizza was also very delicious, base nice and thin and crispy! The lamb ragout pasta was also good. House wine was nice and good value and they offer carafes. The waitress even offered to keep our food warm when one of us had to put a child to bed. We went again another night and ordered an amazing meat platter which was perfectly cooked and juicy. The service was again very good. Overall, this is the best tasting restaurant in the village out of the 2 restaurants there (we felt the other restaurant has a nicer panorama view from the terrace but the food is not as good).

Very good hand-made pastas and meat entrees'. Service is kind but forgetful including not remembering my beverage and mistaking pasta shape and sauce (yet kind enough to send a new pasta complimentary). The desserts are too sweet. Would I dine here again? Probably. Would I recommend it to other? Probably.

We always eat here when we visit Tuscany :-) First, we visit the Pratesi Factory Outlet, then we head to Duddova for lunch. This time, the restaurant was full when we got there. Obviously others have discovered this little gem over the years since we first visited in 2008 I think it was. Our hearts sank, but the very friendly owner quickly cleared some room for us in their back yard and made a table available for 7 people. The menu now comes in many different languages and is still rather small, but the dishes are all very nice. Everything is cooked to perfection. We had the three varieties of bruschetta (white beans, pate and tomato) and a selction of salume. Then we had the ravioli, the pici con tartufo and pasta with tomato sauce. A great bottle of wine too. And for dessert we had the Mum's cake and the vanilla icecream with balsamic vinegar. All in all a great meal for all of us. The nice little shop inside lets you buy olive oil that I think they produce themselves - at â¬14 a bottle for 750 ml. Try one - it's great :-)We love this place, and will be coming back the next time we're in Tuscany!Thank you so much, what a beautiful family you are and above all the trust you have in us is really important. Coincidentally, the tables outside were occulted by other foreign guests, which for them was also a second and third return. All of this makes us proud of our work. Thanks again and see you next time.

Awesome. Simply the best meal we had in Italy. The wild boar stew as well as the pasta are out of this world. Alma introduced us to the porcini mushrooms and we had the flan for starters. Simply gorgeous. Alma gave us excellent recommendations. The creme brulee tops up the entire meal. We will definitely come back again.
