Reviews on Turkish food in North Brunswick, New Jersey, United States. North Brunswick is a township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. At the 2010 United States Census, the population was 40,742, reflecting an increase of 4,455 (+12.3%) from the 36,287 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 5,000 (+16.0%) from the 31,287 counted in the 1990 Census. Located south of the city of New Brunswick, North Brunswick was named for its earlier-established neighbor, South Brunswick, New Jersey. The "Brunswick" comes from New Brunswick, which was named after the German city of Braunschweig (formerly translated in English as Brunswick) or for the British royal House of Brunswick. North and South Brunswick, in turn, became the namesakes for East Brunswick. Alternatively, the city gets its name from King George II of Great Britain, the Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg.

Looking for affordable delicacies about as far from Istanbul as I can imagine, i.e. on the muddy banks of the Raritan, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, two blocks from the Rutgers University campus, friends recommended Efes. Dinner was a delight. It's Turkish regional cooking, perfectly seasoned and sizzled and graciously served. We went for a combination plate of cold appetizers followed by lamb adana, a savory sausage on a skewer, for me, and shish kebab for a friend.

Appetizer of vegie pancake and BreadOK. Lamb ShishKebob awful. Plain white rice, plain chopped lettuce, ok garlic yogurt sauce, lamb-dry and overcooked. Good baklava.Probably won't return

New Brunswick is fortunate to have good Middle Eastern restaurants; I think Namli is the best. Beautifully spiced and freshly prepared food served by nice people in a comfortable, attractive space. BYO - but you can have wine quickly delivered by the neighborhood liquor store if you prefer. The outdoor patio is a treat in summer. You canât go wrong at Namli.
