Looking for affordable delicacies about as far from Istanbul as I can imagine, i.e. on the muddy banks of the Raritan, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, two blocks from the Rutgers University campus, friends recommended Efes. Dinner was a delight. It's Turkish regional cooking, perfectly seasoned and sizzled and graciously served. We went for a combination plate of cold appetizers followed by lamb adana, a savory sausage on a skewer, for me, and shish kebab for a friend.

New Brunswick is fortunate to have good Middle Eastern restaurants; I think Namli is the best. Beautifully spiced and freshly prepared food served by nice people in a comfortable, attractive space. BYO - but you can have wine quickly delivered by the neighborhood liquor store if you prefer. The outdoor patio is a treat in summer. You canât go wrong at Namli.

Great food, Glatt kosher!!! Best hashgaha you can find. Very pleasant staff, eager to please, great atmosphere. Bring your own liquor. They don't have liquor licence. Do you know what döner kebab is? If you don't, you don't know what you are missing. If you are not kosher you can certainly find döner kebab elsewhere. But, if you are kosher this is the ONLY place in the Northeast and may be in America. The owner says, there are three glatt kosher Turkish restaurants in the world. One in Jerusalem, one in Istanbul and one in Highland Park, New Jersey. Patronize this place. I promise you. You will not regret!!!
