Friends suggested we try Qartol, so we booked for a Saturday evening - pouring with rain and dismal East Grinstead outside, absolutely full and welcoming atmosphere inside! The decor is pleasantly Turkish themed and the staff are attentive and helpful. You can see your food being cooked on the barbecue through a smoky and rather greasy looking big pane of glass into the kitchen. The food that came out of the kitchen was superb. We had the hot meze and the cold meze selections and this was just right for four. You choose the cold selection, but the hot is six set dishes. All delicious and nicely presented. For the main courses we had sea bass, lamb chops, and I had Lamb Sarma Beyti -lamb kofte in flatbread with lashings of yoghurt - which was nicely presented and lots of it. The fish and the chops were well received and looked good too.Desserts were a bit predictable and probably not really necessary after the main course, but a better selection of Turkish specialities would be the only improvement I could recommend.A couple of beers and a coffee and the bill came to about £35 a head - good value for a super evening out. Thanks to all concerned and good luck in a site that seems to change hands rather often!

Popped in for a last breakfast before my return to France. First time and choose the Full English breakfast. Everything was there. Coffee excellent. And for a Monday, it was very busy which is always a good sign of quality. Service quick, place very clean. I will return.

Went in to order some chicken kebabs and burgers. The food is not an issue here, it's the service. The man who served us had a miserable demeanor when taking the order, and was very blunt and impatient when asking what sauces we wanted etc. He seemed annoyed that we didn't have the correct change when we handed him a 20 pound note (even though it was busy) and seemed to role his eyes. It seems like they are complacent as they have regular business but friendliness and manners make a customer return and I certainly wont be as I was made to feel like my custom was completely unappreciated.
