Reviews on Turkish food in Chesterfield, England, United Kingdom. Chesterfield is a market town and borough in Derbyshire, England. It lies 24 miles (39 km) north of Derby and 11 miles (18 km) south of Sheffield at the confluence of the rivers Rother and Hipper. Including Whittington, Brimington and Staveley it had a population of about 103,800 in 2011, making it the second largest town in the ceremonial county after Derby. Archaeologists trace it back to a Roman fort built in the 1st century AD, but soon abandoned. Later an Anglo-Saxon village developed. The name derives from the Old English ceaster (a Roman fort) and feld (grazing land). It has a street market of some 250 stalls three days a week. The town sits on a coalfield, which was economically important until the 1980s. Little visual evidence of mining remains. The best-known landmark is the Church of St Mary and All Saints with its crooked spire, originally built in the 14th century.

Thank you to everyone at Stuffed Olive for a fabulous evening. We started with the vegetarian meze which at £6.50 was amazingly cheap. It included stuffed vine leave, hummus, Turkish bread and olives and was a feast in itself. My vegetarian husband then gave in to the temptation of chicken Shish whilst I had the Imam Biyaldi (stuffed aubergine) with rice and a delicious salad. The house red, a Turkish Merlot I think was exceptionally good as was the Baklava to finish. Very reasonably priced and wonderful service. Will definitely visit again.

Went with two other couples and what a great evening. We had the usual free bread and olive starters. Then we had 4 starters between the 6 of us and that was a fantastic choice. Then we had our main courses of which 4 were the mixed grills and what a dish, flavoursome, plentiful and fresh. The 2 ladies had dessert and again thoroughly enjoyed. We received the bill which was very generous only for them to tell us wrong bill . Overall highly recommend and would return again without a doubt. Must remember corkage is allowed here which is fantastic. £3.95 per bottle well worth bringing your own

I ate here with my wife and some vegetarian friends recently expecting to suit all our dietary needs and was not disappointed.The food was plentiful, fresh and well presented. Service was quick, efficient and friendly and the quality of the food was excellent.My wife an I had the sharing two course meal which at £30 was an absolute bargain!The mixed starter platter was superb with an interesting variety of appetising dishes and the mixed grill platter to share was a mountain of food.I wouldn't hesitate to go again.
