Thai is not my favorite restaurant type. However, I saw a huge number of positive comments regarding Thai Pepper on a local blog and decided to try it. We have lived in Haymarket for over 18 months and pass by this restaurant on a daily basis. Until I read the reviews, I never considered a visit. Boy, was I wrong. We dined here last week and the food was delicious. I had a stir fried wok beef dish that was excellent. The veggies were crisp and cut into neat shapes. The beef was tender. My husband's scallop stir fried dish was loaded with large sea scallops. He said it was some of the best scallop dishes he has tried. The service was friendly and the restaurant was neat and clean. Now, that we know what we have missed, we will be back on a regular basis.

We order fried rice, lo mien, orange chicken, general tso chicken. The two main dishes tasted the same. My daughter removed the lids and I had a hard time figuring out the difference. Both lacked heat from a chili, so I had to break out the sirachi. The portions where very generous and the taste was not bad.

We love Thai food and searched for a new place to try. So happy to have chosen Busaba Thai. Family owned, great wait staff, very nice restaurant. Menu is very good, had a few items we've not seen in other area Thai restaurants. Food came out perfect and delicious. We can't wait to go back.

This self serve food comes out fast, really fast, too fast to be made to order.Tough, chewy, salty, barely warm and overall unpleasant. This is not fresh healthy food it something very different. You won't hear the sounds of cooking nor will you notice an aroma. Your food will just appear out of a tiny kitchen, directly behind the counter.I agree with other reviewers that the price is high and portions small. There are better places in Haymarket to satisfy the soy and salt craves.

Only thing that stands out from this place is, they actually don't use MSG. Food is on the salty side. Don't try to ask for hot oil when getting food delivered they charge you ¢50 no matter how much you order. (tsk tsk) maintains the rude Chinese restaurant staff tradition!
