The Spice Merchant is a friendly local pub with an enclosed garden that serves high quality ales, beers, lagers and ciders as well as a range of fine wines, and specialises in authentic thai food served by our live in Thai chefs
The Spice Merchant in Crookham Village used to be called 'the Black Horse' which I'd managed to avoid for a number of years due to the tired, dated and 'lack of atmospheric' atmosphere however, if someone had told me it's now a delicious Thai restaurant, I'd have gone back a lot sooner! There's still a pub area, much cleaner and fresher than my previous experience, but there's a comfortable restaurant and extended kitchen preparing delicious food to eat in or take away! They even deliver (within a limited area). There's a large outdoor area and they even sell some nice ornaments/quirky items around the walls for unique gifts. Go for a visit!

5 of us got together for starters and main courses. I thoroughly enjoyed the squid with spring onion and chilli starter and then the wonderful combination of king prawns, scallops and squid in chilli sauce with coconut rice and pad broccoli with Chinese mushrooms. We had 3 bottles of Chablis and it worked out at £50 per head including the tip.It was all beautifully fresh and well cooked. The best food we had had in Fleet for a long time.
