Reviews on Thai food in Gainesville, Florida, United States. Home to the University of Florida, the largest and oldest university in the state, as well as the Santa Fe Community College, Gainesville is a hub of education and culture. Perhaps due to its strong student population, the city is also at the heart of independent music in Florida, having produced numerous musical acts from a variety of genres. The natural surroundings, including parks, lakes and the adjacent Paynes Prairie State Reserve provide a green getaway from the bustle of city life.

Our daughter is vegan and loves this place because there are several good options for vegans. There are also plenty of other options too. Portions are very large...lots for leftovers but we were staying in a hotel and couldn't take it with us. Nice atmosphere...they have a TV with asian cooking videos playing! We liked it and will be back.

Loved the tasting menu of small plates which range in price from $5 to $10. We had the deep fried Japanese Oysters which were excellent. We then split the Grilled Lobster Bento Box which contained 2 -6 ounce lobster tails, rice, and several vegetables. Everything was delicious. Our server was excellent. I did not give it 5 stars because we sat for a very long time before a server was assigned to our table. 17 minutes. Employees kept passing us by as if we weren't there. No water on the table, nothing. Once we were assigned a server, everything went very smoothly.

This is a really great restaurant for Asian food. I cannot believe all the negative reports and have to think some of them are mistakenly confusing it with another restaurant with a similar name in the area. The location is beautiful, overlooking a serene lake. Then there is the service....absolutely excellent. They are also dog friendly and treated our pup equally well. In an era where good Chinese food is lacking, this restaurant shines. I wish we had one like this in our home town. The spring rolls and tempura were crisp and delicious. My husbandâs mixed meat and vegetable dish brought back memories of the authentic Asian fare of NYCâs âChina Townâ restaurants of my youth. Chopstix Cafe gave us five star dining experience.

Came ready for a Thai lunch! Lunch buffet sounded so good! What a disappointment. Didnât really taste like Thai food. Very bland with no hint of lemon grass, galanga, Thai basil or mint. Soup was bad, like a chicken was dipped in and taken out. Basil chicken and eggplant was tasty but could have been Chinese. Fried rice and Pad Thai were bland as was everything. Bet they save $ on spices. We have eaten great Thai food all across the country and we wonât eat here again. The decor was plain but an improvement over the last Thai restaurant that occupied the space (although their food was better). My wish for Christmas would be a decent Thai restaurant in Gainesville!!
