Little Elephant is a team of individuals who believe that we shouldn't lose or be sway by the modern influence on Thai cuisine. We believe that Thai food should stay true to it's traditional root through taste and the ingredients that we use, there will b
Came here last week with my partner for an early dinner prior to a theatre visit. The restaurant itself is quite understated, but is bright and clean. I found the chairs to be very low down and joked to my partner that I needed a booster cushion and the attentive waitress immediately came over with one for me! (Not sure if this is maybe a regular request as Iâve never had to sit on a booster before and Iâm 53 years old and 5ft 2â). Anyway, once on my âbooster seatâ I was much more comfortable! The menu itself offers up not only the usual Thai fayre, but some interesting additions and there was quite a lot to choose from. We arrived at 5.30pm and were told they needed the table back by 8.30pm (which seemed plenty of time and we had to leave at 7.15pm anyway to get to our show). Our drinks order was taken very quickly and drinks arrived almost immediately along with some very tasty Thai prawn crackers. We did then feel a little pressurised to order as the waitress kept asking if we were ready, so we ordered our starters of Pan Fried Scallops and Thai Calamari to give ourselves some more time to study the menu. The starters arrived quickly (at 5.55pm) and were very well presented. However, although both dishes had been given a one chilli rating on the menu the dishes themselves were totally different in their level of heat. The calamari had no heat to it at all, in fact the calamari was rather tasteless and had to be drowned in the accompanying sauce (which was tasty but very mild) however the scallops were extremely spicy (we both like very hot, spicy food but our mouths were literally on fire, which did detract a little from the taste of the dish). In fact somebody on the next table ordered the scallops whilst we were there and they too were having problems with the heat of the dish. Before Iâd even finished eating my starter the waitress was hovering again with her electronic pad asking for our orders for the mains, which I gave to her in-between trying to finish the last bits of my starter! For the main course we ordered Prawn Pad Thai, Chicken Green Curry, Spicy Duck and Jasmine Rice â these arrived very quickly (by 6.10pm) and were all very tasty (although not hot and spicy at all, which, considering the curry and the duck had 2 chilli rating and the scallop starter which burnt our mouths had 1 chilli rating was a little confusing). With what we thought was plenty of time to spare we ordered desserts (I ordered fritters and my partner ordered ice-cream) â however, after the speedy deliverance of our starters and mains there was an enormous wait for something which should have been really quick to prepare. After waiting for an extraordinarily long time, we finally gave up and asked for the bill, which we paid at 7.15pm . They had, kindly, not charged us for the desserts (in the rush to leave my partner had told me that we had paid for them but, has since realised they did not). As we were leaving they did say we could come back and have them another time. This was a lovely offer but seeing as we were off to watch a show and were travelling home the next morning this would not have been possible in this instance. It was a shame we had to rush out without finishing our meal. However we did enjoy our main dishes. To the restaurantâs credit the owner has since been in touch with my partner to apologise and has looked into the matter for us. He has reassessed the scallop sauce composition and is changing it to reflect the chilli rating and has also spoken to the staff regarding the delay with our desserts (this apparently was due partly as the fritters are made from scratch and partly due to two other tables of 11 people in total sending through their starter orders at the same time as our dessert order reached the kitchen). His response was very much appreciated and he obviously cares about customer service and the food he serves.

Top notch food with excellent customer service. Varied menu and the duck with honey was absolutely superb.

We ordered takeaway from this place. Pad thai and chicken with holy basil (hot!!!) was nice, chicken with baby corn was ok. Spring rolls tasted great. Fishcake appetizers were good but beware it is not an 'English style' fishcake but something you would actually get in Thailand (bit rubbery). Don't forget to reserve a table as it seems always full on weekends.

Been frequenting this restaurant for many years, the food is unquestionably is comparable to food in Thailand itself. The service is excellent. I cannot bring to mind any dish that I would not recommend. If you are in the area of Sovereign harbour it is well worth a visit, pre-booking at weekends is worthwhile as they do get very busy.

The Yummy Noodle Bar is a lovely niche restaurant hidden in the Enterprise Centre behind the station. They specialise in stir fry noodle and rice dishes, all freshly prepared. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and it's reasonably priced. Great for a light lunch. Highly recommended.

We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and they are happy to adapt food, as far as possible for allergies and tastes. We recently had a party and it was fabulous. The food was excellent as always and the team managed to produce all the dishes at the same time - not an easy feat with a group of 16 who all ordered different things. Fantastic value too. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
