Hidden away and without any directions in English language it takes local knowledge to find this hidden away beautiful place. Its both a Restaurant and offers Bed & Breakfast. Seating is outside on the terrace overlooking the Chao Phraya River with a mountainous backdrop. It's beautiful and relaxing to watch the world flow along and watching life along the river. The quality of the food is fresh and outstanding, Service immaculate and all this at very reasonable prices. It's well worth a visit

Riverside Chainat is a place where we used to drive from Bangkok for lunch on our day off. The easy going atmosphere next to the river gave a relax environment. Without hurry, we usually feed the fishes in the river while waiting for our food. The place seemed to have customers throughout the day and most were not in a hurry. Our normal dishes usually composed of tomyam kung, steamed or fried fish, depending what fresh fish was available, some fried vegetable and either plain or fried rice. Our lunch usual lasted for couple of hours in the relax atmosphere. If you happen to pass Chainat, head toward the river and try the Riverside Chainat.

This Isan (Northeastern Thai) eatery is so popular that residents of neighbouring provinces drive here for a very satisfying dinner that costs less than 200 baht per person. Among its specialties are (what else?) spicy minced duck salad (à¸¥à¸²à¸à¹à¸à¹à¸), spicy crispy catfish salad (à¸¥à¸²à¸à¸à¸¥à¸²à¸à¸¸à¸à¸à¸£à¸à¸), papaya salad with blue crab (à¸ªà¹à¸¡à¸à¸³à¸à¸¹à¸¡à¹à¸²), and dry red curry with roasted duck (à¹à¸à¸à¹à¸à¹à¸à¹à¸à¹à¸à¸¢à¹à¸²à¸à¹à¸«à¹à¸), all appropriately spicy. Westerners should be prepared to sweat a lot and thank the Buddha for the air-conditioned space (or cool breeze when seated outside). If this garden restaurant isn't awarded the "Clean Food, Good Taste" logo, none in Chai Nat should.

We had lunch here, coming back from Sukhotai. The restaurant is nice, with spots around a pond. The food was good, however they have just a fixed menu for lunch, well prepared and served. Quite cheap the food, a little bit expensive the beverages for the Thais standard.
