Things to do in Chachoengsao
This is a recently opened restaurant set in the grounds of a new resort which is set to open in 3 months or so. The grounds are neatly manicured with plenty of kitsch touches such as pink flamingos and a flight of life-sized unicorns in one of the many ponds. The food here, however, doesn't really match up to the ambiance. Crab spring rolls had thick, soggy pastry and no discernible taste of crab (despite Chachoengsao being a center for crab farming and produces wonderful crabs), and the dipping sauce was from a jar. The pork rib matsaman curry (pork in a Muslim curry?) was just plain wrong, and from the taste I suspect they added tomato ketchup to the sauce. Better was fried king fish served two ways, with a spicy sauce and with corriander and garlic. Also good was a yam (salad) with pla salit (a kind of fish which is dried and deep fried - it's now become quite rare and expensive thanks to over fishing). The rice was not top quality - too firm and not aromatic. The place is popular, with almost all tables having been booked in advanced. And service was pleasant. There's live music in the evenings. (At least, there was on the Saturday I visited. Not sure if this is every day.) At other times there's piped music, mostly 1960s western pop music and Thai pop classics. And finally to the rats: there was a group of rats openly playing on the roof of one of the sala (pavilion). Clearly the place has a rat problem: there were a lot of rat traps tucked away around the restaurant. So, this is definitely not a place if you have a phobia about rats or if you're a lover of great food. However, if you're looking for somewhere a bit fancy, perhaps for a special meal, this could be the place for you as long as you order carefully from the menu.
We had a fantastic dinner at this popular restaurant. Staff was very nice and helpful. We had freid fish, chicken in several ways and a lot of vegetables. All taste very good.

Kuay jab here is not bad at all. Rich and tasty. However, some might feel the soup is a little too sweet. There are also plenty of choices of food in the shop. Large space too. Good for stopping by for lunch during a trip.
After we done blessing from Wat Luang Pao Sothon. This place is only 3 mins drive from temple. We ordered 3 dishes plus beer, soft drink and water which cost only 700 THB. The place is nice design and quite huge. The food quality and quantity was very good for the price you pay. The staffs kinda slow and needed to repeat every single order to them.

It's delectable but not too delecious. There is a lot of food here such as thaifood, seafood and dessert (recomment mango rice). The price isn't too expensive. The view is great with bangpakong river but the weather is so hot. The staff is very very good :). Lastly somtam is very delicious :)
