Food here was pretty good if not exceptional but there were lots of regulars who clearly love this place and are known to staff. Wine list is short but we found a couple of favourites and they were pretty good. Service was excellent and our visit was good value overall.

Conveniently located by the main road and beautiful ambiance. A very traditional feel to the place. Personalized service and authentic and excellent thai food. The host is a flamboyant character, very friendly and great personality. If visiting deakin university - burwood campus a great place to have a meal with family and friends located just 10min from the uni.

Rama Thai has been our local Thai restaurant for 20 odd years. Other Asian restaurants (Thai, Chinese, Japanese) have opened and closed a few doors down during this time as they have struggled to compete. The Thai flavors coming out of this kitchen are amazing. Also great as a take-away option. The food is not particularly cheap, but well worth the experience. It is not a large restaurant but generally very busy.

One of my measures of food quality, especially Indian food, is how tough the meat is and whether sinews and fat are present - I found none at Avatar. Chicken was probably the most tender I have had - perfect. This place is a neighbourhood gem and judging by the noise level, it seems to have been discovered, so advance booking is advisable. Staff are friendly and the manager very polite and attentive.We are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your amazing review.

Reviewed this restaurant about 7 years ago. We are still regulars enjoying the best Thai food outside of Thailand. Menu hasnât changed much over the years. Favourites are still steak Laos and GC chicken and coconut rice. Delicious!Only suggestion would be to buy new menus they are getting a bit dirty and worn.
