Reviews on Thai food in Bagan, Mandalay Region, Myanmar. Bagan (Burmese: ပုဂံ; MLCTS: pu.gam, IPA: [bəɡàɴ]; formerly Pagan) is an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Pagan Kingdom, the first kingdom that unified the regions that would later constitute modern Myanmar. During the kingdom's height between the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of over 2,200 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.

Bagan is a popular destination with people visiting Myanmar (once called Burma). We dined at this restaurant, it's casual dress with a good range of food. Myanmar gets some bad press from time to time, but the locals are friendly. Thanks you very much for your 5 stars review.

We liked this restaurant because the food was always tasty and very affordable. It was fast service (based on other experiences in Myanmar) and the people working there are friendly and have excellent English. Another bonus was that everything was made fresh to order and I never had any fears about getting sick from the food. The fruit juices were generous. We tried Burmese food, other Asian cuisines, Western food and desserts and all of it was good. I highly recommend going here!

...this lovely place is a haven. The minute you sit down the server brings peanuts and cool drinking water (unique among the areaâs restaurants, as far as I know), and makes you feel relaxed and welcome. The menu is extensive, the prices are quite reasonableâespecially given the quality of the food, which is fresh, hot, and much less oily than nearby places. Iâll be back!

We were the only ones in this restaurant and we couldn't understand why! It is low season but we loved this place!! The staff were lovely. We ordered the Burmese coconut curry which was delicious and a thai green curry which was different from other green curries we've had but lovely flavour! The pork was slightly tough but otherwise food was brilliant!! After dinner we had a pineapple juice and whiskey which was made with fresh pineapple and was delicious and a gin and fresh lime juice they cost 1500 a drink which we thought was amazing value for the quality. Would highly recommend!

The reviews donât lie and the place has something for all tastes.I went with the family and we had a mixture of local curries and the burger. The food was really tasty, fresh and well cooked. Itâs also good value and so cheap in comparison to hotel food!

Ate here several times during our stay, everything we had was excellent, service was friendly and quick. It looks a bit ramshackle from the outside, but didnât be put off by appearances.

We had a good experience eating at Elodie. The food is tasty, delicate and you can be sure that products are qualitative. The service is very good with friendly staff. Maybe the portions could be larger but we wouldnât want quantity instead of quality so thatâs fine! Excellent beaf with basil leaf.

Confort Restaurant is a cosy place near to Shwezigon Pagoda. We are open during all the day for welcoming you and serving you different kind of meal.
This place is a small mom and pops restaurant serving several different types of cuisine. We tried a few dishes and were not impressed at all. In fact it made us immediately question how they attained the top restaurant ranking in Bagan at 5 stars nonetheless. It is evidently a farce. The place isn't terrible. The food is "meh". The location is "meh". The people seemed REALLY nice. But we're the type that would rather have the owner hate us and the food be GREAT than to have GREAT people and forgettable food. So no this place IS NOT 5 stars. IT IS NOT the best restaurant in Bagan. It is simply a "greasy spoon" "hole in the wall" with great staff and ok food. Average at best. I suspect somewhere somehow is fibbing in these reviews and for that and (trusting TA blindly) we wasted a meal.
