Scent of Bamboo is conveniently located in the Aarau train station. As I usually stay at the Aarauerhof Hotel located at the train station, the restaurant is quite convenient. Restaurant has been open for about 2 years when the train station reconstruction was completed. It is quite popular and adds a nice variety to the local restaurant offerings. The menu is extensive and offers typical Chinese dishes. These are served nicely prepared and are quite delicious.

I particularly liked the design of the restaurant. It is not a big place, but the decoration and the lighting makes you feel in a very cozy/familiar environment. The lunch menus have very good prices. The plates were not so big, but I was told that you can always asked for a bigger a portion if you want. There is also a buffer bar where you pay by weight.I also tried a smoothy bowl... it was delicious! As a dessert i would say one is enough for two people.Great place

Really nice thai. We were surprised about this tiny place. Fresh products, good flavours and they are not shy to use spices. If it is declared on the menu as spicy it acually is spicy. Of course you pay swiss prices but its worth the money spent for the great flavours served. Their porc shish entrees are amazing! I will definitely go back.

I stayed in the hotel next door and went to the Pavillon for a quick dinner. The restaurant was almost empty which I notified all other evenings that I passed this restaurant. But because it was raining this evening I didn't want to go the the old center of Olten and gave it a try. They serve sushi, a few appetizers and a limited (4) wok dishes. I had shrimps and fried rice with vegetables. I was not impressed and could do my dinner from start to finish in 15 minutes.
