Find out what Swiss restaurants to try in Zernez. Zernez is a village and a municipality in the Engiadina Bassa/Val Müstair Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. On 1 January 2015 the former municipalities of Lavin and Susch merged into the municipality of Zernez.
The IN-LAIN Restaurant für tasty fondues Not the latest food fashion, but certainly unique: the Restaurant Käserei at the IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau. Delicious fondue variations fish and meet specialities can be enjoyed in the showcase cheese dairy. Have your
I went there with some friends last week and we had some of theyr different kind of fondues. I had the champagne variant which had a really special taste. Bit too liquid though not viscous enough. The bread which you dipped in the cheese was slightly toasted which is a nice unexpected touch. Service was corteus the whole time no problem at all. Would definetly reccomend this restaurant for groups or for a romantic dinner.
Rapido pranzo di passaggio. Ottimi rosti e zuppa dâorzo gustosa, servizio gentile e curato. Non mi aspettavo la clinica holistica annessa.

Select your favourite meal from the menu. Do you feel like starting with a crisp salad or a hot freshly-made soup? How about an Engadine medaillon of beef filet in its coat of Brail stonepine with seasonal side dishes? We especially recommend the tempting
Had a great lunch. Nice people and good food - though the servings were rather small. You can get a package including stay at the hotel, 8 course meal AND a full day in an Aston Martin

At the Gourmet Restaurant VIVANDA you will be treated to an exclusive surprise, degustation menu in the evening. Dario Cadonau has learnt his passion â cooking - from top chefs. He cooked with Daniel Bumann at the Chesa Pirani in La Punt (18 points and 2
I have recently reviewed a two michelin stars restaurant in Menton. It was excellent. But I can say that the experience at Vivanda was even better. What does it take to get Michelin stars ? If it is the number of waiters per customer, Vivanda may not make it. But if it is total customer satisfaction for a great 5 course menu, then Vivanda and its great young chef, Dario Cadonau, deserve two stars. And with just one smart waiter, friendly , efficient, clear, you will not need a sommelier, a maitre d'hotel, etc..20 years ago, I would have gone for the 8 course menu ! The quality of the 5 courses was exceptional. Very subtle tastes. Beautiful presentations. Everything is so refined, from the little bread rolls served on a hot stone, to the black truffle butter, and everything else on the table. Then the appetizers, the fish and the meat dishes, the desert follow, all delicate, subtle, and inventive served on very elegant plates. The wine list is extensive. We went for a fine 2009 Margaux. The decor of the restaurant, all big stones and wood, gives you the space, light, cosiness and elegance you would expect for a great dining experience. If you stay at the excellent In Lain Hotel Candonau, don't miss their gastronomic restaurant. You will not be disappointed by their other restaurant either . And if you stay in St Moritz, Pontresina, Zuoz or around here, try the Vivanda . Cela vaut le detour !

Group of four friends. Just passing by Zernez during a daily excursion through Engadin and the Swiss national park. Looking for a quick and informal lunch we found "a la Staziun" open and glad to serve food even if it was relatively late on Sunday afternoon. We had four tasty Rösti (two St. Galler, one Berner, one Bündner) + beers. Simple food, well done, large portions. Service was friendly, fast and attentive. A special note to the kindness of the waiter. I would not hesitate to return to try the local specialities.

May 30, we had train tickets for a day and got on early in the morning in Steckborn, Tg followed the Lake Contance until Austria. Then took train further through the Vereina Tunnel to the Engadine. In Zernez we went to the Alpina Hotel for lunch. They had local dishes that we enjoyed very much. Engadine nut cake, maluns and capuns. Allegra! Then we went to the National Park Headquarters and museum. They told us what bus to take and where to get off. So we followed the Inn Valley and were glad that someone else was driving! There are a number of well defined paths and parking places. We got out for the view after the park at the Suesom-Give Pass, there is a place to eat there and a hotel and we saw chamois, red deer with huge antlers and we think a bearded vulture flying a long ways away. On the way back we took the train from Pontrasina to Chur thru the UNESCO world heritage valley on the switch back train. Very memorable trip.

Ate dinner here while passing through Zernez on our hiking trip through the Swiss National Park. We ate outside in a very pleasant area with umbrellas, along the street in a fairly scenic neighborhood. Our server spoke English and provided us with a menu in English. I had the Jagerschnitzel (veal cutlets in mushroom sauce) and strudel for dessert. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Service was attentive and courteous. We had a marvelous time. Very pleasant.Do be aware that some patrons may smoke (although smoking is now banned inside restaurants, it is allowed on outdoor dining patios at the same restaurants).

Board included with lodging. Dinner included a 5 course meal in a beautiful setting. Starting with a Chestnut soup that was the best soup I have ever had. Salad bar, main course included wild venison, poached pair with local cranberries (traditional fall meal), a cheese course with phenomenal samples, homemade bread and desert. Great job and great setting.

Staying in the hotel we could explore the menu that is composed almost exclusively of traditionally and local dishes. Although not stellar, everything we tasted was pretty good and made with local and tasty ingredients. A good opportunity to discover the local cuisine with a friendly service.

We walked in spontaneously and were lucky to get a table. The place has a very good selection of local dishes, combined with a comprehensive wine menu. Staff was attentive and very friendly.Only point which prevents getting a rating of 5: Food arrived way too quickly. We were still enjoying our aperitif when starters arrived, and mains followed right after that. A bit more time in-between would have been nice. However, we will be back when in Zernez.Thank you very much for your good rating and your nice reply. We're glad to knowing that you enjoyed your stay at our restaurant. Your input about the service-times we take very serious and will do our best to give more time in-between. Thank you for that. We'd be very happy to welcome you again and wish you all the best.
