The "concept" is a little odd....fill in a card choosing the options you'd like on your burger, and it comes back pinned to the burger! The burger was great though...foccaccia type bread and well cooked fillings (if a little thin).Bathroom outside the restaurant - ask for a token - adds to the impression of strangenessWorth a trip
Swiss specialities coming from small producers in Switzerland. We serve fresh coffee, latte, weine and Swiss made micro brewery beer. We are open to create your antipasti plate with a lot of Swiss cheese and meat. Check out our new Bar at the Rathausplatz
It was a rainy day on our first visit to Thun, and we were looking for a place for lunch. We were a bit leery of going to a place with an English name, but went in and were floored. There was a wonderful array of local meats, cheeses, wines, and beers. The menu was a challenge for my limited language skills, so they asked if I'd just like them to make me a sandwich - the only question was whether I was a "plain ham and cheese kind of guy" or wanted something more adventurous. I chose the latter, and in a few minutes was served a work of art. Everything, from the thin, chili-crusted dried beef to the chewy sourdough bread, was exquisite. If our stay had been longer I would have been happy coming here every day.Dear PeterThanks so much for your nice feedback. BTW. the name Simplyfine sounds in Swiss German the same as it is written in English but would look differently and unfortuantely not understandable by guests from other cantons or countries. Thats why we decided to go for Simplyfine in English;-) also much easier when it comes to social media. Hope you had a great time during your visit and surely we hope to see you again soon.Regards and have a great day. Anita

Dropped in for a quick beer. Place was nice and cool, and empty inside, as most were sitting outside. I decided to relax inside and catch my bearings. Ordered a Feldschlössen Hopfenperle, which I had enjoyed before in a can, which was lovely and cold straight from the tap, which tasted just fine on the hot day that it was, top job bar lady! Fancy enough bar, nice interior, had some decent beers on tap, good for my quick refreshment break. Nice.

Being accomodated in the hotel, I profited of their restaurant and had the traditional swiss veal slices with champignon mushrooms and sauce, with Berner rösti (potato pancake). Very well prepared. I also saw other dishes ordered by other guests, and they also looked great.

One can find good food in Switzerland but it usually is somewhat expensive. Here we are far from the big cities and have managed to eat at a reasonable price: 109 CHF or $120 for a 2 x main dish, desert and a beer. There are in fact 2 restaurants in this hotel: a fancy one with fancier dishes and a family type one with wooden tables and chairs inside but not nearly as attractive as sitting on the terrace â weather permits. The chef is the same as well as the basic ingredients. Tip: The location is hard to find and a GPS is a must.

Went here on our last night in Thun. Food was so good, we both had the fresh fish. Meal came served with fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Also fresh fruit served with meal, may sound weird, but the combination was so inventive and tasty. Good variety of wi es served by the glass. Most expensive meal we had in Thun, but then again, Switzerland is expensive.

My friend and I was doing some travelling in Switzerland this early August and both of us said we enjoyed our meal at Genuss am Fluss the most! : ]First of all, the smoothies were good. Perhaps nothing can really go wrong for smoothies so I'm not gonna talk much about it. The salad, which I've forgotten the name of it, was sooooo cool that we enjoyed every bite of it! The mushrooms were so well marinated and they were really fresh!! (Oh now I remember it should be a salad with tuna). Really impressive! The service was excellent too! The waitress was really nice and she liked chatting with customers. She offered to take pictures for us when she saw us having a difficult time trying to take selfies for ourselves.I later asked if there's any wifi in the restaurant. The waitress kindly gave us the password for each of us to log in. Why were we so impressed with the service which could be just quite basic to most customers? That's because she served and talked with us with smiles all the time - she looked as if she's very happy to serve us.The burgers surprised us, too! We never expected them to be so cute - with tongues sticking out! Well, that's very much of a personal taste whether to like the look of the food. But we were very happy that the waitress seemed to be really pleased that her customers were happy with the dishes!Dear "Turquoise"Thanks a lot for your detailed description of your time at the GaF! It is very motiviating for us to read these lines and your positive attitude in general. Thank you very much and we all hope to welcome you again one day in the GaF in Thun !Kind regardsThe GaF Team

We waited a long time to get service, and there was nobody else except us. After 45 minutes, we finally got the menu, ordered our food. A group of 40 Swiss came from the opposite side hotel (where we were) and sat down, they didn't get any service either. They sat, talked for about 20 minutes, then they all got up and left. We waited for awhile for our food to arrive, after about an hour, we got up and left too. Maybe the chef got on the boat and sailed away.Dear SirThat was not in our restaurant. At the date of your visit, we have had an event an we were fully booked. Every seat was previously booked and we were 5 people working front of house. There is also no hotel opposite of our restaurant.I ask you friendly to delete your comment. We are very sorry you had a bad restaurant experience. Try our restaurant the next time. Hope you will be happy at our place.Thank you!Simon
