I went for lunch with a couple of colleagues to Restaurant Krone and overall it was a very good meal. Deliciously crisp and fresh salad to start and a large portion of venison for the main dish. The wine was great and so was the chestnut mousse dessert.I was informed by one of my colleagues that the restaurant fulfills a social cause of providing employment to people who have been out of employment for extended periods and help them get back to the job market. Haven't stayed at the Hirschen but have eaten here twice about a year apart, the latest being May 2013. Food is of a traditional home cooked Swiss style but none the worse for it. Service was good on both occasions and I enjoyed both meals as long as you're not expecting Haute cuisine. Also attached to the guesthouse is a smoking bar which is a blast from the past.

The cabbie couldn't really find the place because it was not what he was really looking for, I believe. And my wife and I felt more or less the same way. But there it was; not very impressive on the outside, and the inside was only slightly better. But the service was marvelous and the food was superb. The wine list was pretty good, too, BUT -- like everything else in this wonderful old city -- EXPENSIVE. I was here for a business convention. The appetizers were a buffet style with an array of calamari (pretty good), sausages (way too salty), French fries (too yellow than normal), Rossi sticks and supposedly minestrone soup which in fact is just vegetables with a watered-down tomato taste.The lobster pasta I ordered came and I was horrified to see the state in which it was served. Itâs not lobster. Just a third from a halved crayfish with 2 miserable prawns. The table wine is way too light and has an acidic after taste.The total experience is horrible. Itâs such a disappointment.

Went for Thai foods. Not as authentic taste as I expected but it's ok. It's good for special occasions with family or a date. They have another type of restaurant for westerners. The restaurant accepts the dog only if he behaves. Also, they have a park nearby where you can walk your dog there.

Excellent service, friendly, helpful, good business lunch and others, very comfortable seating, rather quiet without unpleasant music. Dessert is a tiny bit on the sweet side but beautifully presented. The price of the business lunch is acceptable for an expensive city like Zürich. My friends have lamb, they find it good. The service is very attentive. Nice and warm place, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and we were served by a super nice and gentle young chap. We had a nice corner where our dog got water before we got our drinks ;)Good food, honest portions, the cordon bleu were really tasty. It has been years since we had a meal at the Linden, but we were glad to retry it last week. We were welcomed by kind and professional staff. Our main course (we only had one course) was on the table 20 minutes after we arrived. The dishes were well cooked and very tasty.We ate upstairs, outside on the balcony. Although this is next to a pretty busy intersection, the noise did not disturb our lovely meal.Definitely going back for more.

...about this place? It may be more difficult for me in the future to get a reservation if I tell you just how good it is. Friends took us here and we keep coming back because it is everything.
