A very small coffee shop on a rainy day. The wifi offered was not free which seemed strange in these times. We paid Fr 13.50 for two café au lait and two cakes - not too expensive for Swizerland.

The new owners tried really hard but were obviously new to the restaurant business. Prafandaz used to be known for their fondue, now the selection is down to 2 versions ( which us perfectly fine) but the quality was just average.

Loud voices at the bar. Dark wood. Local atmosphere. But definitely cosy. Details and attention. Not an ordinary bistrot at all. Impressive blackboard : Red-cabbage velouté with pheasant, Wild-boar rack, Assiette valaisanne (generous choice of local meat & cheese). And a delicious dessert called Dessert de Maman (the latter standing for the owner's mother, originally from Brittany) : a melting delicacy served with salt butter caramel. Not to be missed !

My girl friend took me here for my birthday. Had the roesti...extremely tasty with the cheese on top and the smoked ham/bacon pieces in the potatoes...was too much to finish...we took it back to the chalet and used it for an omelet the next day.It goes without saying the view is spectacular. My girl friend had the salmon which was excellent also and way too much for her...we added the salmon to the roesti in the omelet and it turned out great.

All fresh and mostly from the region: meat, fish, burgers/vegan burgers, child menu from fresh food and freshly made. Excellent ratio price-quality. Small family run restaurant and bar just opposite ski lift. A friendly lady who serves the food happens to be overrun by tasks when the restaurant is full and can forget one or two things, so do not come in a rush during lunchtime.

We were staying in the hotel for the evening, so thought we'd try the restaurant below the hotel out. Good choice of quality Swiss dishes awaited us, with either eating out on the veranda or inside the cosy wooden panelled rooms. The food was excellent, as was the service.

We are happy to welcome you to our "table d'hôtes"! It is in our family chalet that you can discover or find again our best recipes in a warm setting. Only by reservation.
It was almost a year ago since we had eaten their delicious croutes at Mayen. It was great to visit their recently opened 'table d'hôte' and their 'croutes', 'tartes' and 'café Mayens' are still delicious. Didier and Marylène are wonderful hosts and make you feel very welcome. We can really recommend this place! We'd like to thank you for coming and for your lovely comment ! We wish we could welcome you again soon.

Unsurprisingly there are plenty of restaurants in Switzerland that focus on cheese. Having had a look online this seemed to be one of the best rated ones in the region. It's located pretty high up so the views (from the street) are spectacular. The menu has all of the usual fondues, raclettes and variations thereof as well as some other dishes. Of course you don't go to a cheese restaurant and order a steak so we had raclette and very delicious and generous (as much as you could manage!) it was too. If you want somewhere that ticks all of the very traditional Swiss boxes and serves tasty food then make a stop here.

Tradition restaurant, same direction for more than 30 years. Bistro just renoved, nice building built in 1906. Quiet and shady terrace. Season food, proximity. Fine choice of suppliers. Young and dynamic staff. Asparagus of Saxon, Vouillamoz family, Straw
Conveniently located across St-Maurice train station, Café de la Gare is the perfect location to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere. I had lunch in the Salle à Manger room which boasts a cozy and traditional charm.A huge thumbs-up to the owner - Mrs Lafarge - for the smiling and efficient service during the whole lunch. As I visited late November it was probably the last opportunity to enjoy venison dishes this year. As starter I chose the homemade venison terrine, which was very nicely presented and proved very tasty. The main course was ââCivet de cerfââ - venison stew served with all the trimmings: red cabbage, 1/2 pear, spätzli. Once again tasty and generous portion. As dessert I enjoyed the « Salée » - a tart specialty from the nearby Val dâIlliez. In high-price Switzerland the bill was surprisingly moderate. Amounting to CHF72 it definitely offers excellent value for money. An address to keep among my favorites!Thank you very much for your message, I enjoy so much to satisfy my guestsSee you soon
