This restaurant, situated at the Stanserhorn summit, offers good food, themed in local delicacies. It is a self-serve, cafeteria style place with lots of options to choose from. They have locally produced wines (we had a Merlot) that pair really well with the food. Acting upon recommendations from our tour guide, we had mac and cheese (really different from what we do in the USA, and much better in my opinion), the veal sausage, and Black Forest cake. Note that they have several seating areas to choose from including the revolving dining room (the busiest and most popular), the standard dining room, and outside seating, weather permitting. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the pricing, which was a bit high for the menu.
We had a fabulous 40 th Surprise Party at this hotel and restaurant. Gabrielle and Daniel took away so much of the stresses involved in organizing such an event. They were born to do this job!! From the Apero to check out the following morning, the whole experience was first class. The restaurant side of the business has rightly been awarded kudos as the food was amazing. The hotel side also deserves a mention as the rooms were beautifully designed and quirkily individual in a very stylish way.All the staff are on board with the culture of ensuring the guest has a wonderful experience.Thank you all for helping to make this occasion so memorable for us.

Had we not just gotten into town or had I known of any other option at 8pm, I wouldâve chosen elsewhere. But I made reservations a while ago so we stayed because we were hungry. Unfortunately, it was during the heat wave over Europe and this place has no A/C. Add to that an open kitchen and it was crazy hot inside. It was hot outside too, but there were smokers everywhere and we hate smoke more than heat- so inside we sat. Obviously, they canât do anything about the heat, but they can prevent a meal from unnecessarily lasting 2 hours. There was only one other table inside and they were ahead of us (eating desserts before we got our dinner) and a couple tables outside. But it took 2 hours for our meal. So in the case of a non-AC restaurant, help a gal out and stop taking 30 minutes between dishes. Itâs not like we ordered risotto or asked them to thresh some wheat before making our bread. Plus when itâs that hot and your sitting forever, food just isnât as appealing. Now, on to the box. I was certainly intrigued by the box concept. For those who havenât been- they bring a wooden box to the table where it attaches and they open it up with grand ceremony and indications of how the meal will proceed. But hereâs the reality... the box holds salt/pepper, a candle/matches, a tin cup with some crackers and cream cheese in a toothpaste type tube- and sugar for coffee. Thatâs it. Thatâs the end of the box. It doesnât factor into any meal at all. So really that just seems gimmicky vs innovative. The food was above average to average. My falafel was way over fried into black crumbs but my husband enjoyed his veal. However- even a good dish canât make up for the misses. Server was friendly enough, but definitely not in a rush. They speak English which was helpful. But after spending the past 2+ weeks in Europe- this dinner is near the bottom. Dear chamdexthank you for your comment even we are unhappy to read, that you didn't like the experience with us. You are right regarding the heat, but please note that we are in a historic house and therefore we are not allowed to install an A/C. Luckily in Switzerland there are not many days with temperatures like that... Now regarding the waiting time it is usual at our place, that people have 2 hours to spend. It would have been helpful to know that you want to get a fast meal. Also the box is part of our experience, but we accept if it hasn't convinced you. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip through Europe and who knows, maybe one day you come back to give us a second chance...best regards, your Werkstatt-Team

When in Switzerland, one is expected to have fondue at least once, and the Wilhelm Tell is an excellent place to try it. This restaurant, located on a permanently moored paddle wheel ship, provides a wide selections of fondues. While a bit of a tourist attraction, it is worth a visit when in Lucerne.

We had lunch at this restaurant before visiting the glass factory. It is iIdeally situated a few steps away from the factory especially during the factory's lunch time (12:00 to 13:30). The bratwurst and pomfritz portions were quite large but like all Swiss restaurants on the pricy side for a bratwurst. The service was good. A convenient stop for a bite.

We were there only for a drink but enjoyed the friendly service and great view on the terrace. Will return for sure to test the kitchen. What I saw with other guests looked quite good. Creative decoration and a wide selection of Swiss food. The house itself was converted from an old mountain hotel with a new built terrace and external kitchen. Quite good planning and look not bothering the tradition but adding some interesting twist. The terrace is the perfect place for a nice evening dinner overseeing the lake. With its own cablecar you can be sure to get the last ride down :-)

We travel to or through Lucerne every couple of years, and the Belvedere has become one of our consistent âfoodieâ stops there since 2013.First appearances here are misleading. The restaurant is located on the ground-floor of an otherwise rather drab-looking apartment building. One could just as easily miss the Belvedere by driving by countless times and never noticing it.But, once inside, one is greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows running the full-length of the dining area providing a full and beautiful view of the lake and mountain scenery. A way to improve that even further is to dine on their large, comfortable terrace, weather-permitting, and to take it all in âal frescoâ. So far we have been lucky on every visit to do just that.Every meal we have had here has been a true delight, from the amuse bouche, to the starters, mains, desserts and drink pairings. That consistency in skill, quality and service has cemented the Belvedereâs standing as a very solid 1-star Michelin establishment for years. Cost- / benefit is also in good balance here. All that is rounded-off by the Belvedereâs relaxed vibe, and they have always made us feel very welcome and well taken care of.We hope and wish that the team there maintain those high standard for many more years to comeâ¦because we would sure miss this restaurant.

The prices are on the high side, but then Switzerland is nearly always expensive for visitors from abroad. The food is tasty and well presented, the service polite, friendly and efficient. The views are second to none. Traffic noise on the terrace is disturbing , so we were happy to stay inside.
