My husband arranged a surprise birthday dinner for me with the F&B team and everything was executed to perfection. The surprise dinner prepared by the Chef was excellent and the service team was professional, intuitive and 'on the ball'. A must-try is the 'moules et frites', homemade thickly cut French fries fried with beef fat served with a large serving of moules steamed with beer and fresh herbs. There were many dishes that were outstanding: duck with a raspberry sauce and double baked potatoes, goat cheese salad, a steamed lobster dish served with spinach that was amazing, and a heavenly pavlova with berries. Prices were reasonable and the servings were generous. We're already looking forward to being back! A kids menu would be a good idea to introduce as we'd like to bring our child along for a family meal. Kudos to the team for a memorable dining experience!
J'y suis allé en mai 2019 sur recommandation d'une personne locale. Accueil très bien. Cadre correct, mobilier ancien (j'aime bien). Pour manger, soit fondue ou assiette du jour. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Attention, uniquement paiement cash.

What a find in Saanen! Hidden away, this gorgeous restaurant is worth seeking out. Book early as I think itâs a well-guarded secret of the locals! For good reason! On a lovely, warm Summer evening we sat outside on the veranda, surrounded by beautiful flowers and candles. The menu was unique, presented in a bound book, each day showing a new menu sourcing the freshest ingredients. Each meal we had was beautifully presented and faultless. Our table chose a range of salads and the mussels for entree and for the mains the trout was delicious and the beef cheeks divine. The wine list was extensive and we enjoyed some beautiful Swiss wines. Totally recommend this place! It was the best meal of our week in Saanen/Gstaad. Itâs a great address to sleep but also to eat. The quality of the dishes are very good. Based on local or Swiss products. The service was fast. Good recommandation on wines. The meat was fantastic. No mistake. Take your dinner there.

First visit in 1970 at the beginning of ski season, and local ski instructors were yodeling and singing during their dinner, for their enjoyment and ours. Wonderful! Excellent fondues and raclette (have an order of Bündnerfleisch [local air-dried beef] with the raclette), as well as other well prepared Swiss meals. All in a beautiful, very early Chalet, served in two very old carved wood panel rooms, with original antique tables, chairs, etc..
Bonne salade avec feuilleté au saumon en entrée et succulents spareribs de porc avec frites pour CHF 18.-Voilà un plat du jour avec un rapport optimal de qualité et de prix.Le bâtiment de La Croix dâOr est un magnifique et très grand chalet avec une chouette salle.Un revanche, la grande terrasse est très mal située à un carrefour où le bruit du trafic est infernal.Mais cela est compensé par lâimpeccable qualité de lâaccueil et du service.
Nouvel établissement repris par une hôtelière-restauratrice expérimentée. Le concept de proposer un seul menu du jour, excellent et à un prix agréable pour le portemonnaie, est à saluer.Comme tout est remarquable, la qualité de la cuisine, de l'accueil, du service, il est recommandé de réserver pour être sûr d'obtenir une place. Nous reviendrons!

We worried when we saw the bad mountain paintings and boar's head on the walls, but the food delighted us all. Local steak cooked on a blazing hot stone, perfectly prepared lamb chops and fine perch were accompanied by excellent fries or swiss roesti and salad. Delicious desserts were copious and creamy. Our waiter suggested a nice rose to accompany the meal , and service was generally excellent. The restaurant is very accessible for the disabled and an external ramp made a wheelchair easy to push even in the snow.

Took the very last train of the seasonal Cheese Train from Montreux, which includes lunch at Le Chalet. This cozy little chalet restaurant has a huge copper vat of cheese cooking over a fire as the cheese chef is stirring and stirring over that open fire. There is a whole ritual for all the restaurant to see, all the while the band is playing regional folk music. The cheese fondue is to die for - very very good. The wine was good too! For dessert we had the decadent meringue with double cream. A walk through town will make you feel a bit better before getting back on the train back to Montreux. Zufällig gesehen, hinein gegangen, uns inspirieren lassen, super fein gegessen, kurz: es warperfekt. Das Restaurant wird seit Juli 2019 von einem neuen, jungen Paar geführt. Die Speisekarte ist eher klein, aber es hat wohl für alle etwas dabei (sonst fragen....). Dazu gab es Empfehlungen vom Tag; bei unserem Besuch gab es frische Steinpilze. Ich habe eine Pilzsuppe bestellt und mein Freund hat sich für Spaghetti mit Steinpilzen entschieden und beide Gerichte haben hervorragend geschmeckt. Kompliment an den Koch und ein herzliches Dankeschön für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft von Sabine Köll. Da wird mit Können und Freude gewirkt. Wenn wir wieder mal im der Nähe sind, wir kommen bestimmt wieder!
