After finally getting reservations for this place, we ate here last night with friends. The first hiccup was our reservation was for 8:00pm but we were not seated until 8:30pm. The hostess explained that several diners were chatting after dinner and that no tables were availabe. However, to make up for the issue, they provided us with a complimentary spinach and artichoke dip appetizer that was very good. As we were waiting on our table I had convinced my wife to split the Paella Noa Noa platter with me, but once we were seated and saw the specials, we pivoted to Grilled Red Snapper for me and a scallop pasta plate for her. I started with the Bahamian Seafood Chowder which was interesting, different than most seafood chowders I have eaten, but goo nonetheless. My snapper came with mashed potatoes and sautee' spinach and a cream sauce. The fish was good but honestly have had better red snapper. My wife enjoyed her meal but not as much as the "Volcano" drink that we all shared. One friend ordered the prawn daily special only to find out the last order of it had just left the kitchen. He reoreder the Hong Kong Stir Fry which he indicated was very good. The other friend had the coconut chicken grill which he stated was very good and raved about the rice that came with it. We finished with a very good bread pudding. Will go back sometime soon, because I still want to tackle that Pauella Noa Noa.

The restaurant is nicely appointed... that is the best thing that I can say about Cerulean. My dining partner and I both ordered bento boxes, they arrived with our sides mixed up. The server brought new sides. We had salmon and tuna as our primary selections, they were far from fresh. To say that Cerulean is in any way an authentic Japanese restaurant would be a stretch.

Cigarette butts in the parking lot and few cars should have given me a warning. Scallops were so chewy that I sent them back. Hour and a half later I was sitting on a porcelain throne regretting my decision. Regretted it for four hours after. I think I will stop and call the health department. The dining room looked nice but I will never go back. Waitress was nice but that is not enough. I have to go some where I can keep my food down.
