Probably the best sushi and shashimi I have ever had. How can you get fresher tasting sushi and shashimi then on the East Coast? If you believe their ad they ship it in daily. We waited an hour to get in at their bar next door and it was well worth it. The prices were fair for the quality, service was impeccable, and decor is eclectic. The place was packed even though it was after 9pm. If you are into sushi you need to be there. A do not miss in SLC.

I think you need to know what to order here to fully appreciate this restaurant. We didin't. While not bad, our lunch was unmemorable and had to be sent back to be heated up. It actually was returned all new and much more appealling but I always wonder what the chef and/or server were thinking when they bring us a less-than-proper version to begin with. Val-We at Tsunami strive to provide memorable dining experiences, so an unmemorable lunch is not ok with us! Please accept our apologies for the lukewarm lunch that you were served - we promise to address your concerns with our staff to ensure that we correct any future issues. We hope to serve you again very soon.

New restaurant opened last summer. See Web site URL.
One of the twelve commandments of a sushi restaurant, thou shall not eat sushi at a restaurant that offers âall you can eatâ sushi. Hmmmmmm.Nice ambiance, good service, fun atmosphere with funky light fixtures and some very cool, authentic Viet Nam architecture.Very limited sashimi selection, a lot of roll combinations and other entree and starter offerings. Tasty food, just not a great selection of fresh fish.Donât try to park in the actual parking lot, seems only the employees park there and getting in and out is difficult at best. Park in the old Sears lot for your best bet.Okay at best for good sashimi, but great service!

My wife and I decided to drive about 30 mi to check out Kyoto, and were not disappointed! The service and food were great. Their Japanese dumplings were really good, especially the sauce. The tempura shrimp with veggies was terrific. I had the 'Geisha' sushi, and loved it. It turned out to be a very relaxed evening in a very pleasant atmosphere. I'm glad we went.
