Simon's Town (Afrikaans: Simonstad), sometimes spelled Simonstown, is a town near Cape Town, South Africa, which is home to the South African Navy. It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula. Live Bait Muizenberg is all about casual, comfortable dining. Savour uninterrupted views of the ocean and Surfers Cornerâs local surf talent from the comfort of your seat while digging into some of our fresh and hearty seafood platters and sushi.
Out the outset, let me say that staff are wonderful, kind people. The views and setting are beautiful. There were only a few patrons so the service should have been better than usual. Sadly, the service is lacking in touch and professionalism. As I told Manager Abigail, I would not accept to go back even for free. Slow, you have to ask for little things twice, and finally they serve you Rum shooters instead of grappa (order correctly taken by the waitress who even spelled it properly in her notepad). Not offered to replace them with the correct grappa (which they had in stock) as they lack the right touch... Simple, it is a cheaper type of eatery, where you get what you get and expect nothing more than a lowly service. So sad, as they have everything it takes: kind staff, great position, unequalled views, reasonable food, well positioned bar. But you need more class. Owners do not deserved patronage. Definitely not recommended. Those who follow me know that I am not generally a moaner. Osetra - The Restaurant is a 220-seater upmarket designer restaurant, situated in the heart of Kalk Bay. The restaurant, named after the Caviar, is almost completely sea facing with the outside dining terrace perfectly positioned for people-watching. Open
This was our second visit and we were as impressed as on our first visit. We were given a delicious complimentary bowl of spicy seafood bisque on arrival (very welcome on an icy Cape Town day). We then shared a plate of perfectly cooked prawns, served with the most delicious soya sauce-based sauce and fabulous egg-fried rice. The staff were attentive and efficient (and I loved the teapot they brought my tea in).
