It's a shame, because we really like the quality of their fish and their interesting sushi and appetizers, but my wife has a rice intollerance and they are unfortunately intollerant to making sushi without rice.

The fish is fresh. The menu has a wide selection of sushi/sashimi. I've never had a bad meal here. I moved to the East Coast & when I returned I stopped in for dinner with a friend. The staff welcomed me back like a member of the family.

This is a small Resturant on Santa Rita just before entering the downtown. My wife ordered two different "rolls", both with 9 pieces. Covered with roe. Our Japanese guest ordered one roll, also w roe. She could not believe the helping we receive. Their meal was out in under 10 minutes. My food took longer but worth the wait. I had three large pieces of Chicken Katsu & rice with a salad and miso soup. Presentation was very eye appealing. There was so much food that I only ate one of the chicken pieces, saving the remaining two for leftovers.Highly recommend this small (8 tables, 4 booths), you will not be disappointed.
Weâve visited revolving sushi bars before but this is the most automated thus far in our experience. Prices were commensurate with the food quality. Food was great and service was excellent. Our server, Albie, was awesome. For first timers, they take time to explain how it works. You get a prize after a minimum of 15 plates. Weâll definitely be back.

Amen to gluten free sushi! I'm surprised when I happen upon another sushi restaurant that doesn't have gluten free soy sauce. Luckily Tomo isn't one of those. We arrived after lunch. They were supposed to be closed but once we walked in, they made accommodations for us and had food and drinks in front of us within five minutes. Big smiles on their faces. Really friendly people. The California rolls and miso soup were excellent. We didn't order anything else, so I can't comment further. But it was real crab, gluten free soy sauce, it was fast and it was delicious.

The salad was bad. It was too sweet and weird. I'm allergic to peanuts and they say that it's just miso dressing but my mom tasted peanut butter. The nigiri's sashimi and rice are loose, the sushi is hard and the price was okay. I would not come here.

Discovered Sendo via its trip advisor reviews and its close proximity to the Courtyard Pleasanton. After a short walk down Hopyard I entered and was immediately greeted and welcomed by the chefs behind the sushi bar. Appreciated the great service, the excellent sushi, and the overall feel of the place. Highly recommended!
Where to eat Indian food in Pleasanton: The Best Restaurants and Bars

I like Japanese food very much, and like a quiet and serene atmosphere to go with it. Sato provided both--we each had a very good teriyaki beef plate with tempura garnishes, and plentiful green tea. The restaurant was serving mostly customers who were clearly of Japanese descent, a good sign of authenticity and quality of the food. I can't comment on the raw fish dishes, as I don't eat raw fish, but the cooked lunch menu offerings were varied including chicken, beef and seafood. Lunch menu is online at the Sato website; most lunches are a good value at around $10.Service was attentive and pleasant. We lingered as long as we wished. The restaurant is small and attractively appointed. Parking seemed tight on a Friday at lunchtime--there are many shops and restaurants in the shopping center.Would gladly try other dishes at lunch or dinner at Sato.

Driving around looking for sushi places on a 106 degree day is not my idea of fun. Finally found this place, which IS open on the weekends, unlike other places. We were pleasantly surprised. We were quickly treated and seated. There were edamame (free) for us to snack on while we made our menu choices. We chose two sushi rolls and we're pleased with both. I think our total bill was $30.

The Bay Area has a lot of good sushi restaurants, but this one stands out. Definitely fresh, nicely presented and just really good. Generous portions for the price, excellent service. Pleasanton isn't the center of the universe, but whenever I'm in the area I will drive a few extra miles to return to Pleasanton and this restaurant when I want sushi!
