Things to do in Paranaque
At Ginza Nagaoka, expect delectable hand-pressed sushi and chirashi sushi served with flair. Chef Junji Nagaokaâs attention to detail is legendary, as he masterfully prepares authentic Edomae sushi courses using the freshest seasonal ingredients. Reminder
Tried the Omakase here, left stuffed. The sushi was perfectly portioned and prepared for each dish. Too many favorites, but the three types of sashimi with the authentic wasabi root is the winner. Will be back when it opens again!
Expensive but good fresh fish. We tried both steamed and grilled cod. Both very good. The green salad used a nice dressing, subtle and pleasant . Of course mixed sashimi was excellent. There were 2 kinds on the menu. We tried the one thousand pesos or so plate. Next time we will try the bigger plate. Nice ambiance. Pleasant experience.

One of the few pioneer Japanese restaurants in BF Homes Paranaque. This restaurant has been in BF for years. Other restaurants have come and go, but Hanakazu has stood the test of time, despite it's steep prices. If you have the budget, you can definitely afford to binge in this restaurant. But, even if you don't, you have to give it a try as this is as authentic as it gets.Their food is so good, it will make you forget the price.Everything in their menu is worth a try and worth every centavo. If you find yourself in the South, pay this place a visit, open up that wallet and treat yourself to some good old Japanese cuisine. Try not to pay attention to the prices and enjoy every bite, savor that flavor and imagine yourself eating somewhere in Tokyo in one of those Izakayas.

Hubby was craving for good sushi but did not want to go back to our usual Japanese resto spots. He accidentally read a review on Sensei and suggested we try it out. It was supposed be along Aguirre rd, but we missed it the first time we passed by it. We found it the 3rd time when we drove REALLY slow this time. Place seems packed and so was their parking. People were lining up outside, we decided to stay even if it took awhile to get both a table and a parking slot. It was a small , quaint spot but we were lucky enough to get a table good for three. For the food , we ordered a lot of maki , sushi and of course, tempura. For us, a Japanese food trip is not complete without ordering a Tempura :) Service was fast , it did not take long before our food started coming in. We love everything that we ordered. The tempura , most especially. It pretty much surprised us since it was our first time to see about a foot long tempura (since it was deep fried with a head.) The only down side to our experience is that our table was too small for our food. The ambiance was a little too "dark" like for me. Diners were mostly young professionals . I did not notice any other family dining. It actually had a "Makati after work vibe" but the moment you step out, you'd realize that you are actually in BF Homes. Going back to the food, it was good. Price wise, you get what you pay for. High quality Japanese food. Was the wait worth it? Definitely yes.

The world's most recognized Japanese restaurant, known for its innovative Japanese-Peruvian cuisine paired with a hip crowd and celebrity following.
Nobu in Manila has a good reputation for Japanese food, it is the only Japanese celebrity chef restaurant in Manila, no other ones around. The hype around it and the amazing comments I find however exaggerated unless our experience was so unusual. We went on a weekend for dinner, the restaurant was not busy at all, atmosphere very dull to say the least. Service was far from great, food took very long - and as I mentioned the restaurant was not busy at all and they had enough staff around. All seemed very uncoordinated, nobody seemed to run the place. The food was ok, nothing special but also nothing wrong with it, but for sure not the best Japanese food I ever had. Considering there is a celebrity chef name at the door one would expect more or not? I went to Matsuhisa in LA and some other Nobu's around the globe, those were great and exceptional, from service to food to restaurant vibe, Nobu Manila is way behind those.Quite frankly we ordered a few dishes, were not so impressed with the quality and waiting for so long, and left hungry after a while as we just had enough and were not enjoying our evening there.

Pricey - but really good salmon sashimi ... don't order Gyudon (it'saverage) ... their spicy tuna maki (average) .. Tempura - is above average ...
