We went to Ichiro for my daughters birthday after reading some good reviews. We were rather disappointed with selections of sushi and other dishes we ordered. Service was not very prompt either.I doubt we will go back there again.

I was thrilled when I found out the ginger dressing was NOT filled with mayonnaise, as most other places in the area now serve. They have decided to go for cheap fillers vs authentic ginger dressing:( So sad. The asians don't even eat mayonnaise! urgh.We tasted the salad and dropped our forks. Stale something. Didn't help that there was no mayo. Our server was not able to answer any questions about anything, and she is the daughter of the owner:( We got up and left, not even feeling kind enough to pay for the salad. It was that bad.

Went for the first time on a Thursday evening and enjoyed our sushi. Nice atmosphere, servers were pleasant and accommodating, even willing to request a custom roll for us, which was delicious. My only complaints are that the rolls are relatively small for the price ($16-$18 per roll). The size reminded me more of grocery store sushi rolls in comparison to the larger, more lush and full rolls we have at Kumo and Yokohama in New Milford for example. The rolls felt a bit skimpy. Also, it kind of stuck in my craw that I was charged for a refill on my unsweetened ice tea, which I find to be quite unusual, for any restaurant.

My 11-year-old son and I had an early dinner here on a Saturday night, and it's our new favorite spot for hibachi. Located on Route 25 in Newtown, ample parking is available in this plaza's lot. We arrived at 5 without a reservation and were the only ones dining in the hibachi area until about 5:30. People were dining in other areas of the restaurant. The sushi bar looked good. The interior is inviting and very clean, with a subtle aesthetic. Service was attentive and friendly. The quality of ingredients and cooking style made our dishes especially flavorful. Price is comparable to similar restaurants. I had the steak and my son, steak and shrimp combo. The noodles were perfectly sauced, and the beef, shrimp, and veggies cooked to perfection. We'll definitely return.

We chose to eat here because of the good deal at local flavor ($15 for $30 worth of food) and because we enjoy Asian food. For appetizers we ordered the scallion pancake and the banana roll. Both were decent. Three of us ordered the shoyu ramen bowls and they were all pretty disappointing- broth was mediocre, noodles too firm, veggies with barely any taste and although it said on the menu to ask your server about Spicy ramen, when we did they said they didn't have it. I ordered the Beef Basil fried rice and it was okay although the beef didn't have a great flavor. The deserts were okay except the Chocolate cake which was frozen in the middle and dry everywhere else except the ganache. We had to ask for refills of water and our waitress seemed annoyed and impatient ALL the time. We've rated this a 'one and done'.

I have been many times and decided to let everyone know that this is a great Asian restaurant. I always get sushi as it is perfectly created with the freshest ingredients. They do offer other Asian dishes that some of my friends prefer. Those too have been delicious. The staff is attentive and the restaurant is very clean.
