This is an outstanding Japanese place. It's run by a well established Korean chef and his superb team. It has indoor outdoor and garden seating. Teppanyaki tables aplenty A good selection of sakes are on offer. We tried the Caesar salad with Japanese flavour. The tuna belly was fresh and delicious. The sushi was well made.the prawns and lobster tempura had the Japanese light sauce as well as thicker hollandaise type sauce. The ostrich teppanyaki was out of the world classic. It has enough vegan and vegetarian options but the place is a classic restaurant with an innovative feel

My first visit to this restaurant, driven more by a description of the Indian "street theme" decor, than the actual food. The restaurant is pleasantly spread out, with various seating areas. We were presented with different menus incorporating Indian and Asian food, there were very extensive and a bit exhausting to peruse the entire offerings. We opted to try the "Indian Street Food" which was presented in a unique and interesting manner! The staff should be better acquainted with the dishes and what they comprise of, as two of the dishes were totally different from what I thought they would have been. The manager did come around to ask if all is well, but after the order was already made. The food was reasonably good despite this, and having seen an Asian and Indian chef in the background, the authenticity is there.I would perhaps re visit with a larger group to be able to sample a cross section of the dishes from the different cuisines.

This hidden gem, the Hero is by far the BEST spot throughout Nairobi. You are warmly greeted by a brilliant hostess and host, Emily and Heppinstall as you exit the elevator onto a beautiful comic book themed rooftop sky-bar. Their comic book menu is such an AWESOME touch! Heroâs HIGHLY skilled bartenders presents AMAZING drinks that compliment their AMAZING sky-bar view. Sexy. Classy. Chic (sheek)! For drinks, I HIGHLY recommend the Boy Scout OLâ Fashion & Lokiâs Cup. My two favorite drinks - the drink presentation is unbelievable (Snapchat/Instagrams worthy)!Either for a romantic date-night, a reserved setting for adults, the meet-up spot before a night on the town, or place to decompress after work, the Hero present a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. The Hero Sky-Bar is the Super Hero of ALL bars throughout the Nairobi area.

It was time to visit Haru again and I have to say it is worth battling the traffic. Great service, delicious fresh sushi and moderate prices!

Japanese style Restaurant&Bar "IZAKAYA" which operated by Japanese in Nairobi Kenya The restaurant name "CHEKA" means "Laugh" in Swahili language:))
We decided to have our second anniversary dinner here. We called ahead and reserved a table. We liked the ambience and overall look and feel of the place. The wait-staff were personable. My wife ordered the fried chicken with roasted potatoes (there's no indication on the menu that the chicken is marinated in sake). On tasting the chicken, it tasted off like it wasn't fresh and we asked the waiter to return it. She decided to only have the roasted potatoes. When the bill was brought, the roasted chicken had been charged, even though we returned the food, uneaten. The waitress tried to pass off a 10% discount, but we insisted that we hadn't eaten the food and wouldn't pay for what we hadn't eaten. We were happy and willing to pay for food and drinks we have consumed. This is when she brought the Japanese chef/owner of the place. This gentleman wouldn't listen to reason and was more concerned that he had already cooked the food so who would eat it! His arrogance on a high, he said that his countrymen liked his cooking so he doesn't understand why we didn't like it. The condescension was appalling. We pointed out to him that all over the world, as a customer, if you are disappointed with a food item, you are allowed to return the food and NOT be charged for it. Seems like Cheka was set up for the Japanese patrons in Nairobi. This experience completely ruined the evening for both my wife and I, and on our anniversary night no less. Terrible, terrible service.

Misono is the go to restaurant for consistently good authentic Japanese cuisine. Great value for money as well. Service is not necessarily super fast, but this is more a norm in the city. Otherwise if you want fresh, well-prepared, scrumptious sushi (plus aesthetically pleasing), Misono is the place to go. Closed on Sunday though!

We visited Furusato after a long hiatus, since moving from Westlands. We arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday and were surprised to find the teams still cleaning, even the restaurant was open.Nevertheless, we settled on window table in the main dining room and ordered our sushi. What I have always liked about Furusato are the many options. It's not unusual for us to order prawn tempura, fried rice and then our sushi boat. I appreciate the appetizer salad served at the start of the meal. Service is prompt and efficient. The restaurant filled up quickly, which is a testament to the quality of food. Prices are also a bit steep but for the quality of fish used in the sushi, very fair.Furusato is not a typical Japanese restaurant and has a significant number or Korean dishes on offer. The main dining hall and type of service is a bit dated though.Overall a reliable dining option.

This is nowadays among the most happening places in Nairobi. Abit out of the way but a spacious place with many indoor rooms and place a as well as gardens for seating. It's really quite large and has a restaurant and buffer catering part.We tried the tempura which was well done. The assorted sushi was a bit dry. The spring rolls were crisp and less oily. The tofu in garlic sauce and Thai green curry were full of flavours bit the fried rice was a bit mushy.

Featuring carved wooden pillars from Pakistan, elegant Afghan rugs, charming fireplaces, sprawling terraces and idyllic gardens, The Talisman blends fine dining with unbridled eclecticism. We have made every effort to create the ideal ambience for those s
Loved everything about the restaurant from the setting to the food. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. There were lots of choices from with two menus and a drink list as well. The staff knew when to approach and left plenty of time for you to enjoy your meal. I also liked that you did not have to sit in a large group even though we were traveling on a tour of 18. It was more intimate being able to sit at a table of 4. I had a wonderful fish dish and my husband started with sushi that he said was well prepared. Everyone of us ordered something different and all dishes from vegan to steak were enjoyed. By the time dessert came we were all full but still indulged. The wine was also very good.Dear Susan K,Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. We are happy to hear that our staff and service met your expectations. We look forward to your next visit.Until next time.
