we went to our favourite place for sashimi again today. Yes, the sashimi is still fresh, the other dishes are still delicious. However, the service that i had experienced today was way below expectation! From servers dragging chairs across the floor, to a total lack of attention, i felt that they are really losing their position of "to-go" place for our sashimi fix. We had difficulty getting someone to take our orders. We literally asked for our rice set twice and waited at least 15 minutes for the rice to arrice after our sashimi were served. I was very worried that the sashimi might loss the taste after sitting on our table for too long. Then suddenly you had this server that kept saying aloud, "can someone help to serve the dishes", repeatedly! And then the dragging of the wooden chairs from one corner to another corner of the restaurant and it was really choatic.Yes, their food is good but with this kind of things happening arounf the restaurant, i will seriously think twice about going back again!

This Sushi Tei restaurant is located at JEM 3rd floor and always crowded, especially on weekend. I would recommend to make a reservation or queue at least 30 mins before. Their Sukiyaki and California Roll are very nice, while fried rice is just average. You should try their black ink squid pasta which is very good. Services are pretty good and fast, while pricing is medium high (around S$ 30 per person).

Who would have guessed that there's an izakaya restaurant within a sleepy residential block next to a major highway. This izakaya restaurant will have its neighbour (Hakata) have a run for their money. I ordered Sushi Omakase and they were all delectably prepared with fresh sashimi. The portions are generous too and it was a real treat having superb japanese food within a stone's throw of where I stay. From the looks of it, they have already garnered a following of fans/friends converted from patrons who enjoy their whisky/sake with the izakaya offerings. The chef is local but he has a deft hand probably honed from years of training. We totally enjoyed the ambience and of course, the food is a joy!
