This is one of my family's favorite restaurants in Iwakuni. Make sure you go early (11:00am for lunch, and around 4:30pm for dinner), as it fills up very quickly, with wait times occasionally exceeding an hour. The food is always incredibly fresh, and there is a HUGE selection - everything from traditional sashimi dishes, to bowls of udon and tempura, to tasty desserts and coffees. Sushi is available on the lower "slow" conveyor belt, and typically costs 100 yen per plate; special orders are placed on a touchscreen at your table and arrive on the upper fast-moving belt. These range in price from about 250 to 600 yen each. The restaurant is always clean, but usually quite loud. The waitstaff is welcoming and accommodating; they speak very little English, but they do have an English menu and will assist you in ordering off the touchscreen if you ask. Best of all, my husband and I can eat until we're (somewhat uncomfortably) full and still pay less than $20 for dinner.

I've come to this sushi restaurant twice now and it has been excellent both times. I've ordered chef's choice sashimi plate and sushi plate and both have always been generous and delicious. Seared tuna, seared salmon on the sashimi plate, along with hamachi, tako, and what I believe was sea bream (I may be wrong, but it was at least very similar in texture and flavor) have been home runs. There are bars on both sides and group seating in the middle. I always prefer sitting at the bars to get more of a one on one with the chefs and see what they are plating. Since I barely speak any Japanese it affords an opportunity to see what's getting plated and request anything that looks particularly good! The chefs are super friendly and accommodating for non-Japanese speakers. The older chef, I assume the owner, knows a bit of English and can help you out with what should and shouldn't have soy sauce. The wait staff are also super friendly. Lots of locals eat here! There is smoking, like many Japanese restaurants, but they must have good ventilation because it didn't bother me. I highly recommend checking this place out!
The quality of the sushi is so much better than the other two conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Iwakuni! They offer a lunch set where you can choose udon or soba and then you also get a plate of sushi (they choose) for ¥760! You can also grab whatever you want off of the conveyor belt and pay for what you grab.
One of the best things about this place is sitting and people watching. The menus do not have English, and the staff does not speak much, but you can communicate by pointing to menu items. It is helpful to know what the sushi you desire is called. They accept American credit cards but it is easier and best to pay with Yen. The kids will get kids meals when they come here, and the token is for the machines. If they do not give you one, or bring the check without it- just point towards the machines and they will bring you one- it is part of the kids meal, so sorry parents!
