Harrisonburg is the county seat of the surrounding Rockingham County, although the two are separate jurisdictions. We like sushi. Whenever we travel to another town the first thing we do is search out the recommended sushi restaurants of which Sakura was one. It is probably the worst we have ever been to. The atmosphere includes an attempt to resemble a proper sushi restaurant but falls far short with this huge imitation waterfall of some sort of pop art design. Guns and Roses and similar outdated rock and roll on the sound system and an overworked, un-enthused wait staff. But even if you get by all that the food could save the experience. Not so. Nothing had any taste. Either the sushi has been kept on ice too long or just inferior grade but there was no taste in what I ordered which included four different sushi and an order for a Chirasi bowl which had probably 8 different pieces - again no taste. The seaweed salad was ok as was the sticky rice but not worth the expense. I'm sure there's better sushi places in Harrisonburg.

This place was filled with students from the local colleges and I can certainly understand the attraction. The staff is polite and efficient. The food is good. The price is reasonable. And...it's an all-you-can eat meal where you order off the menu rather than just walk around a buffet.

Golden China is so good I ate here two nights in a row. Fully stocked buffet tables loaded mostly with Chinese classics and a few American stand by's . All items tasted freshly prepared and were excellent. I mainly filled up on the sushi bar. One of the finest Chinese buffets I have had the pleasure of sampling. A must try when in Harrisonburg.

We went after a JMU football game with a group of 16, I recommend a reservation for a large group. Chef's and servers are very accommodating, fun and helpful!Aside from great food (very light and fresh no heavy sauces) the showmanship is some the best I have seen! They had everyone smiling!Great meal, you will not leave hungry.

While vacationing in the area, we stopped to have dinner, and was pleasantly surprised. The server was excellent in doing their job, and based on his suggestions, what we ordered was delicious. Try the Miso Soup, as well the main dishes. We also were there for Happy Hour, and it was $5.00 Martini Monday. If weather permits, ask to sit out on the deck. Can be romantic depending where you sit. Prices were very reasonable.

So glad I followed reviewers advice! Travelling for baseball and craving sushi, I was fortunate to find this amazing place next to my hotel! The staff was welcoming and friendly. I ordered shumai and Green Dragon roll for takeout. Absolutely beautiful presentation and flavors were exceptional! So glad I gave them a try!

We loved this place1 It was nearby to our hotel, the food was great, the staff was helpful and friendly, service was good, and a quiet relaxing atmosphere. For us this was a home run, after a long day traveling, we agreed we wished it was located in our town, so we could go more often. We enjoyed it immensely.
