I had a craving for Japanese food so we decided to try out Musasi for lunch. The service was good, the restaurant was clean (including the bathroom), and the food was fresh. We were particularly impressed with the freshness and size of the Unagi nigiri. The price for the sushi was a little on the higher side but quality over quantity. I enjoyed my Agedashi tofu, though I would have prefered smaller pieces of tofu but the flavor was good. The miso soup was above average. I enjoyed my TonKastu bento, a little extra Katsu sauce would have been nice but overall great. We didn't care for the Bulgogi but as that is a Korean dish maybe we're better off sticking to the Japanese dishes. The chicken teriyaki was good as well. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and will return.
My wife and I have been eating at Soyo for a decade and have never been disappointed. It is a solid, consistently good Asian (Japanese/Chinese) restaurant serving lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday. I particularly like their teriaki salmon and teriaki steak. They also have a killer sushi bar with raw and cooked offerings. It is a fairly small place with room for around 40 patrons. The service is very good with a friendly staff. The atmosphere is pleasant but not formal by any means...shorts/jeans and t-shirts are acceptable. If you enjoy Asian food with a strong Japanese influence without pretense, this is the place for you.

It was printed on the menu that substitutions cost extra so I asked for the miso soup instead of the clear soup. I have had them both before and the clear soup is clearly too salty. She made a big deal out of "No substitutions." She continued to be rude throughout the meal. Everybody at the big table was offered water to drink but me, but she was not being friendly with them either.

The restaurant had decent sushi with attentive service. Prices are pretty reasonable overall. It is located in the Peninsula Town Center in Hampton, which is a nice shopping establishment. Parking can be a bit challenging to find during the evening hours, but it wasnât too crowded there, and the dining atmosphere was pleasant.
