Fast service, good food and the most delicious vegetable tempura we've ever had! We needed a quick bite before our shopping trip to IKEA! The crispy rolls, edamame beans and the vegetable tempura was enough to tide us over until dinner. I Rate this sushi restaurant very high. A must try for sure!!! Great job, keep up the good work!! Thank you

Great place for takeout or dine in. The crispy roll is delicious with prawns and crab meat. We enjoyed the chicken teriyaki with rice and noodles. The tempura is good as is the sunomono, the miso and the California roll. Service is fast and very friendly. All in all it's a great place to dine in Port Moody.

We visited Nagano in Coquitlam last week and were really disappointed with our meals. I had Teriyaki Salmon and my husband had Teriyaki Beef and we both thought our dinners were tasteless and unappetizing. The service was really terrible. The server got our orders wrong, forgot to bring rice, didn't offer tea or water and over-charged us by $10.00. It was an error but considering the whole evening, we will not return.

Itâs my motherâs favourite dish, so I ordered a lunch special that included black cod. Itâs the best fish I have ever tasted. Light but packed with flavour. Cooked perfectly and paired with stir fried vegetables. Fresh sushi and delicious homemade ginger. Excellent service. Plenty of parking. Clean washrooms. A bit pricy but the quality and experience was worth it!

I agree with an earlier review by Mobius 1965, BUT....I might be a little more generous with the rating: mine would be approx 3.7 circles, taking into account price, quality friendliness of staff, cleanliness of venue, comfort factor etc. all good.Ginza Japanese 'style' restaurant on Oxford St in Poco last evening was a busy place when we arrived for our 730pm reservation 4pax. There was a queue of young people waiting to be seated, and the kitchen was pumping out an array of colourful platefuls of sushi like offerings. It's NOT a traditional Japanese restaurant, in fact I never spotted a Japanese person anywhere on the premises, so IF that's what one is looking for, avoid.IF however, you want a good meal 'in the style', GINZA is better than average for this part of the world imho.My dining companions opted for the colourful rolls with fancy names. I tasted a bit of everything, but MY order was SASHIMI, the DX plate @ 20 bucks, allegedly a deluxe selection, chef's choice. I am a traditionalist in the sense that I wish to TASTE the fresh fish, uncluttered by too much else. The colourful rolls have lots of mayo like stuff, sweetish sauces, and chili peppers etc. NOT my thing, so I 'stick with my knitting'.Sashimi DX (stands for deluxe, I was informed) selection had some good moments, and the tuna was fresh and tasty, generous amount, ditto salmon. Tiny serve of razor clam ok, tako very average, HUGE amount of shredded daikon radish dwarfed everything else, a few salad leaves, no wasabi? wassup? No uni (sea urchin eggs) in the restaurant. period.(Too tuff to stock, said the spokesman)In a general sense, the sashimi dish was fine / fresh / enjoyable, but hardly 'deluxe'.At the price point of 20 bucks = nothing to complain about, either. We ordered a gluten free soya sauce at extra cost, and a wasabi with pickled ginger dutifully arrived later, as did warm green tea. My companions ordered a cold sake which was 'industrial' quality. They enjoyed their colourful roll selections, and I sampled at least one of everything. Not anything to write home about imho, but better than average in this local market.....Service:Really good making reservation, answered telephone promptly, seated quickly bypassed the queue at door.Friendly and chatty table server, we got an UNSOLICITED (we said nada, old friends enjoying our time together as we waited) 'apology' for slowness in serving the food, and an offer of miso soup 'on the house', AFTER food was consumed. So, management KNOW they have an issue there, but it never concerned us.We were promptly seated when we arrived spot on 730pm, though no food appeared for 45 minutes.Dear management:IF u r running slow with food, suggest serve DRINKs quickly?(we had an empty table for 45 mins+)If u r REALLY concerned, put out nibbles or snacky things, but why wait 90 minutes into proceedings to bring up the 'subject', by offering an item we didn't order, don't particularly want, and for good reason because it wasn't particularly good, and I didn't consume after tasting = strange daze in poco town. Conclusion:Clean tidy venue, friendly service, sushi 'nouveau' formula with a nod to the traditional, a Japanese 'style' food experience which seems to be popular in the local POCO area.Value fair.Quality good, not astounding. My assessment is 3.7 circles rounded up to 4 on this forum.

Have been here several times since moving to this neighbourhood. Had dinner tonight, my usual chirashi don. Fish is fresh, good selection of fish slabs (sockeye and atlantic salmon, tuna, fatty tuna, snapper, egg) perfect amount of rice. Sometimes it comes with a couple of pieces of octopus. Didn't have any tonight. Would be perfect if they added sweet raw prawn and a dab of flying fish roe.

It is not the best Sushi place I've been to but the price and the amount of food you get is good value. No real complaints. They skimp on the wasabi, tempura sauce and gyoza sauce. Service is friendly and the service is fast. Overall, a good experience.

California sushi is one of my favourite Japanese sushi restaurants in Great Vancouver area. My boyfriend and I always went there for dinner when we were in Vancouver before. At Sushi California has a wonderful atmosphere created by the interior and by the courtesy of our welcoming personnel. There are 3 locations in the Great Vancouver area. We always had dinners at its downtown location.20180504, I went back to Vancouver to visit my friends. My friends treated my Sushi California for dinner. We ordered food to go. We ordered Dynamite Roll (Lettuce, Cucumber, Avocado, Massago, Prawn Tempura, Mayo) $4.50, California Roll (Cucumber, Avocado, Crabmeat, Mayo) $3.25, BC Roll (BBQ Salmon Skin, Crabmeat, Cucumber, Lettuce, Masago, Mayo, Unagi sauce) $3.50, Spicy salmon sashimi $12.95, and Chicken Teriyaki $9.50 to go. All the sushi rolls were very freshly made with different sources. They were all very tasty and delicious. Spicy salmon sashimi is my most favourite dish in this meal. Very fresh. Large portion of food.Besides the taste of the food, The prices of food in Sushi California were very reasonable. Cheap + Delicious. I believe all the customers will joy their dineout in Sushi California. Strongly recommend to eat at Sushi California.

Arrived mid afternoon. Note access to this small parking strip mall style area is either east bound on David just past Coast Meridian, or north bound on Coast Meridian 100 yard before David. Limited parking area depending on time of day. Attractive decor and welcoming greetings upon entry. Ordered take out which has completed in very reasonable time (restaurant wasn't busy at mid afternoon around 3:00).The combo rolls order (3 flavours) was very good.NOTE You can now ORDER ONLINE & ALSO FEATURE DELIVERY OPTION

I have tried severL sushi restaurants and was never a big fan until i tasted Sushi K Kamizato. OMG unbelievable and made me a sushi lover for this restaurant The restaurant is small with lots of atmosphere. We usually come early to avoid the line up.I have tried many items on the menu, each bursting with flavour. The green tea is also delicious Keith and his crew do a fantastic job for a casual yet incredibly tasty dining experience.Since eating at Sushi K Kamizato, unfortunately i am spoiled and other sushi just is ho hum compared.
