Best Sushi food near Catania, Province of Catania, Italy

Reviews on Sushi food in Catania, Province of Catania, Italy. Catania has been a prize of many empires over the centuries, from Greeks to Romans to Arabs to Normans to Spaniards (to name a few). But its citizens have a more dangerous enemy right in their backyard—Mount Etna, Europe's largest and most active volcano, which destroyed the city with earthquakes and lava flows in 1693. Look closely at the baroque buildings dating from after the eruption—you'll notice a creative use of lava.

Freshly caught and grilled sea-bream is hard to beat, my daughter had the black gnocchi, I the fish, and with two glasses of excellent Cal. Poggio di Venere Grillo, we were more than happy. The decor is completely kitsch, but the staff are friendly, the service impeccable. Will certainly return!

Excellent, fresh, good service, good value! We had simple Tuna Avocado Maki and Etna Futo Maki, - both were fresh, delicious and beautiful decorated. Service was very good, friendly and the restaurant is even sort of cozy.Really a good place for Sushi! We've been there for lunch, - it's full int he evening, but lunch is obviously not a common sushi time in Italy... there were just 4 tables occupied.

Oxidiana was tastefully wonderful. (I’m not certain, but I think the word oxidiana means layers, such as volcanic glass. Assuming because of the volcanic history of activity nearby?)So my guess is possibly because the restaurant has layers of goodness?Anyway, if you live here or are simply traveling through Catania and looking for something other than Italian, you’ll be happy to try Oxidana’s. Their portion sizes are enough to share!! The staff and service were spot on.I’ve added only two photos, but you cannot go wrong with anything you order. Trust me, we watched every dish as it came out.I would suggest making a reservation. We did so on their website. It was very crowded. It was a taste to remember.
